Welcome to my page of reviews, where I'll tell you what to see, read, eat, and listen to. If you have a review you'd like others to see, as always, you can mail it to me at petejohnst@hotmail.com.
I just got Weezer's Green album, and it is grand. It is really rad. Everyone should like Weezer, because their sound is not dislikable. They just have this mellow, really cool sound, with some simple guitar riffs and good vocals. Frontman Rivers Cuomo writes really fun songs, this music is pop, but good pop. And on the cover of the CD one of the guys has my shoes. So that's reason enough to buy the CD. If you're looking for a fun CD that you can chill out to, I recommend Weezer's Green Album. Go Here to find out more about the band.
This week, the CD reviewed is At The Drive In's "Acrobatic Tenement." I don't know if you guys know ATDI, but you should get to know them, because they are a consistent player on my stereo scene. This CD is an earlier release of theirs, but they are still coming through with tight riffs, some unexplainable lyrics, and a cool indie sound. When the singer shouts, he really sounds cool. The third track, Embroglio, is one of my faves, and I think the hook is way catchy, although somewhat like bad teen poetry (It's all a facade, and nothing really matters.) But they make this stuff count. It's something you can listen all the way through. It makes you think. It makes you bounce your head. It makes you want to buy their latest release, "Relationship of Command." It rocks. So if you like good indie rock, give At The Drive In's "Acrobatic Tenement" a test drive. Go to Here.
