The ProblemThere's a bug in Microsoft's Windows operating systems that allows nasty people to crash your computer! This bug is known as the Out of Band (OOB) bug. The program that exploits this bug is called WinNuke. Systems that are affected are:
Test Your SystemWell, this is the ultimate test. If you click on the "Nuke me!" button (DON'T DO THAT YET!!!), our server will contact with port 139 on your computer and send some Out of Bound data. If you're running one of the buggy and not yet patched operating systems, this just might give you a nice blue screen to look at. So close all your applications first and take all other precautions you think might be nescessary. It's smart to bookmark this page so you can quickly find the patches after your computer has crashed. You may now proceed to click below... see you again in a couple of minutes!

The friendly Dutch police was not too happy with this Nuke-Me script and asked to remove it from this server. Please feel free to download the source code and put it on your own server. Tell me when you're done and I'll link to you from the big Nuke Me button! If you need technical assistance - just ask.

Timeline of EventsMay 7 Some guy or girl who calls himself or herself _eci writes the original WinNuke C code.May 12 Microsoft releases patches for Windows NT 3.51 & 4.0. These patches did not cure the problem completely: Mac users could still nuke Win NT systems. This is because the TCP/IP stack of the MacOS uses a slightly different implementation for setting the "Urgent Pointer". May 22 Microsoft brings out new patches that completely cure the OOB & Urgent Pointer bug. June 19 Microsoft's website, www.microsoft.com, is hit by a new bug. Microsoft blatantly lied about the problem, saying that a "phenomenal growth" of their website causes the webservers to be too busy all the time. Later they had to admit that their Internet Information Server (IIS) has a serious bug that allows anyone, anywhere to crash Microsoft IIS. More info on CNET. June 29 Yet another serious bug in Microsoft Windows 95 & Windows NT: The SSPing bug. Microsoft's website was down some time because of it. Check this ssping site for some great info or read this article from CNET.
Some Final WordsDownload and apply the patches and you might be safe for the next few weeks. That is, untill the next Microsoft bug surfaces.... This will go on forever. Aren't you getting tired of this? Aren't you uncomfortable with being lied to?? Aren't you fed up with giving your money to Bill Gates - already the richest man in the world - and getting all this crap in return? Then perhaps you're ready for an alternative. Perhaps you're ready for Linux.Linux is an exciting and powerfull operating system with millions of happy users world wide. It's the fastest growing operating system in existence. The brightest minds of the computing world are contributing to it. They don't do it for money, they do it because they want the best system possible. More Linux information is available here. Linux can be downloaded for free but if you don't have an ultra fast internet link it's probably better to order the RedHat 4.2 CD for $1.99 (order #0070010127).
