Today is a bit of a lazy day. I don't know what time Pam and I woke up, but it was afternoon. Not that we were rushed to do anything in particular, not at all. We just lounged around in bed and watched some television.

Pam got some Easter lilies from her parents a couple of days before and asked me to bring my digital camera so that I could take a pictures. I had taken the pictures last night and sent them off to her parents in e-mail. I not-so-innocently asked her if her parents sent her anything for Groundhog Day. When she replied that they didn't, I then asked what made Easter more noteworthy than Groundhog Day. To my dismay, she wasn't to be baited into the entire discussion about religion though. She simply smiled and said that she wasn't going to get into it. I don't think she was peeved or anything, she might've even been mildly amused.

We grabbed a warm shower after her coffee; it was quite pleasant.

After shortly talking to her parents, Pam adviced them that there were pictures of her and the lilies in e-mail. They weren't able to view them however, so we spent a number of iterations trying to send and resend them. It didn't help that her ISP kept disconnecting her and each picture took a fair time to upload. I think we ended up sending the two pictures a total of four times each… Once last night, once today (during which the ISP booted us), once again (without the ISP nonesense), and individual messages with each picture. And it still didn't work. So at the end, we simply uploaded them to the web space I get with my ISP and sent them a link. [Sigh]

We had a short discussion about where we could get lunch. It was actually a bit late for lunch, it was going on about 4:30 or so. If you think the traffic is Seattle is not that bad, I'll just let you know that part of our decision process is which restaurants have parking. There were two that I knew of locally, one of them was Dick's and the other was Kidd Valley; they're both burger joints. I was curious about Dick's, but I knew that I liked Kidd Valley, so that's where we ended up going.

Kidd Valley has exceptional burgers. I ordered the Double cheeseburger, while she had the Bacon cheeseburger. We each had shakes, hers was a mocha and mine was peanut butter (no kidding…) and we had fries and onion rings. The burger was good as always. I had them remove the pickles and relish… well, because they're evil. They occasionally make the onion rings with Walla Walla (a region of Washington) onions, which are much better than the typical onion, although I don't think that I've ever had a Vidalia onion ring. It all depends on whether or not they're in season. We sat side by side while she suggested that we should vow never to sit across from each other at the table. There we sat for some time, while my car occupied one of the preciously few nearby parking spots. We looked out into the sun, which was certainly bright though not terribly warm. As I was nearing the bottom of my peanut butter shake, I realized that they had done a relatively poor job of mixing it and there was this thick collectiono peanut butter at the bottom of my cup. I briefly contemplated what it would take to suck that up the straw… their straws are pretty thick.

We went for a short ride after Kidd Valley. Pam wanted to drive around Queen Anne Hill, which was fine, as long as no parking was involved. She literally wanted to ride up Queen Anne Ave, which we did. It was a relatively steep hill, which might have sent me into shivers a year ago considering that I drive a standard transmission. Although, I didn't have to stop and this kind of thing doesn't trouble me anymore since I have since gotten used to it. I kept thinking to myself that this would simply be a nighmarish hill to have to ride up in a bicycle; I'm sure some cyclist do it for amusement, but they must have a chemical inbalance.

Pam pointed out that we passed a place called the Cat's Meow and mentioned something about Magic's meowing. We turned around and started heading back shortly after that. Incidentally, the name of the store, or whatever it happened to be, was actually Cow's Meow.

Why on earth would it be Cow's Meow?

We drove back to her place and I stayed there for a little while longer. I did have to come home to do my workout and continue cleaning up my place for Jenna, my houseguest in a week or so.
