Today would be a bit of a lazy day. Pam and I spent most of the morning in bed and didn't get up until afternoon. Not that we were sleeping mind you, but we spent the morning in bed. To me, mornings are a totally unmanageable part of the day; my mind just refuses to function properly during the mornings.

It must've been around 2pm by the time we decided to get lunch. We were contemplating a number of places for lunch. Lately, she's had a strange fixation on Dead Robin's bleu ribbon burger. I tried this once… once The idea of putting bleu cheese on a burger is an aberration.

She, naturally, had the bleu ribbon burger. I think I ended up getting a monster burger, which is entirely too much food and a Jamaican Shake. Yes, folks it has alcohol, Kalúe for one, but it is really quite good. I highly recommend it.

We sat outside in the patio, while we enjoyed the little sunshine with which Seattle teases us. Not that I mind all that much, mind you, I've taken nine years to get used to this. The one thing about Seattle is that it is never plainly pleasant. Typically it is too cold to really do anything outdoorsy. Yes, you might endure the temperature and the cloudiness for a while, but just try spending a day in shorts in sixty degree and overcast. The other extreme is the rare occasions when it gets too hot. Not a problem for most other places, except that most apartments in the Seattle area are not equipped to handle heat. Cold? Yes. Heat? No. There are practically no places to speak of with air conditioning. It makes it very difficult to sleep in 90 degree heat and 90 percent humidity.

Today wasn't a bad day however, and we sat outside. We chatted about what we would do for the remainder of the day. Pam suggested we stop by Ann Taylor so she could pick up some hosiery.

We drove to Bellevue Square. Now I don't want you to think that I shop for women's clothes because I don't. I just seem to have a knack for remembering things. Naturally, I don't think it is particularly noteworthy, but others seem to think it is. Pam also happens to think so. I knew where in the mall the Ann Taylor store was, despite the fact that I don't shop there.

We stopped by the store and picked up more pairs of hosiery than I could imagine anyone going through in a reasonable amount of time. I suppose that I don't really know, since I don't wear the stuff. What is the lifetime in stocking? I mean how many times can you wear the typical pair of before you have to throw them out?

We also went to the GTE store. It was some time ago that I suggested that she should get a headset for her phone, since it seems as though she is talking and doing something else at the same time. This GTE store is where I happened to pick mine up some time ago. I pointed the headset to her and suggested that she pick it up. She didn't really see the appeal, but she did nevertheless.

We hit a couple more stores in the mall… including her favorite store, Talbots. She didn't end up getting anything, but we went.

We then drove to Redmond Town Center. She talked about getting some soap from Bath & Bodyworks. They were having a sale on some of the things she wanted, so she ended up loading up, which is a generally a good thing.

We went back to her place after that. I tried to quickly get her bicycle working. I had gotten the thing out of storage. I had to reassemble parts of it. Both wheels were taken off. I can understand the front wheel, the back wheel was released but still in place. Very odd. The pedals were off as well, which is understandable. Unfortunately, the brakes were still behaving oddly and I didn't have the tools to adjust them. I also had to leave since I had dinner plans.

Tonight would be the last Sunday Dinner with Len™ for a while. He is leaving Washington on an extended drive, to the East Coast in fact, and won't be here for a while. He is leaving sometime during the week, but certainly before the next Sunday.

Tonight would be a relatively simple dinner. We went to Chili's since Len had a taste for their chicken crispers. Tonight we talked mostly about the things he still had to do before he left. Naturally, I offered to help. If nothing else, I'm available for cheap manual labor. Yes, even if it involved cleaning. I'm normally not good at cleaning up, but you know… I'd even do that for a friend.

We cut the night short since he had to finish packing. I'm sure I'd see him again soon, though we had less than a week left.
