Since emerging on the R&B scene in 1996, Atlanta's 112 (pronounced one-twelve) have established themselves as the lovermen of Puff Daddy's Bad Boy label with their authentic brand of 90's Southern soul. Indeed, Quinnes Q Parker Jr is the epitome of the group's gnetlemanly values - he doesn't drink swear, drink or smoke, and he is warm, humble and all too happy to talk to a journalist from faraway Australia at a moments notice. |

112 - Q, Daron Jones, Michael Keith and Marvin 'Slim' Seandrick - aleady have heaps of fans in this country, having made their presence felt in the charts with such hits "I'll be missing you", "Only You" and "All Cried Out", and their self titled debut album continues to be a strong seller on import some three years after it's release. The group now hope to consolidate their following and win over their locally released sophomore album, Room 112, with the single "Love Me", featuring Ma$e, leading the charge. Room 112 is the titled in tribute to their label mate, mentor and friend, Notorious B.I.G., killed in a drive-by two years ago. "Our relationship goes back to our first single, 'Only You' - and even further than that," Q confides. "When we were first signed to Bad Boy, he immediately took us in as his little brothers. We owe a great deal of our success to the Notorious B.I.G. because he got us in the public eye. No one had heard of 112 and the fact that he was on our first single helped a lot. In the song he say's this line, "Room 112, where the playas dwell'- and everywhere we wnet people wouldn't even call us 112 , they's just say, 'Room 112, where the playas dwell'. We did the tribute song 'I'll Be Missing You' for him, but this is more personal, you know." What makes the quartet such a formidable unit is that they have cultivated their own sound, writing and producing a good part of their material. Three member are also accomplished musicians: Q plays the drums and keyboards; Daron plays keys, acoustic guitar and is a deft drum programmer; Slim plays violin, cello and keys. This versatlity has opened the door for them to contribute material to other acts such as the Isley Brothers, Tevin Campbell and Kelly Price (plus various labelmates), and even form their own production company, Da Twelve Music.
