You have arrived at
My Star Trek Experience!

In August of 1998 visited Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Hilton. The Hilton was the former home of
Elvis and present home of the Star Trek Experience, and what an experience it was!
A definite must see for any Star Trek fan; the Star Trek Experience accommodates any fans fancy. If you like Ferengi's and Klingon's, chances are you'll encounter a couple.  You can eat at Quarks Bar, or shop in Garak's shop and even be beamed into the Enterprise
by Wil Riker while the Klingon's are trying to kill you.  It's really more fun then it sounds.
I have many pictures showing you exactly what the Experience is like, but with anything,
the pictures are nothing like the real
"experience."

The Las Vegas Hilton

Upon entering the Star Trek Experience, you are given a museum type tour of the History of the Future.  On exhibit are the uniforms from the various series and movies.  Also on display are phasers, props, and even Giordi's visor.  On your way to the "Experience", you pass through the Klingon, Ferengi and Cardassian rooms.  Keep your eyes open for Ferengi's, they just sneak up on you!

Here a Ferengi just sneaked up on me, and you know the only thing a Ferengi loves more than profit, it getting his "Lobes" rubbed!

Once you enter the Experience, you are beamed onto the Enterprise by Commander Wil Riker while the Enterprise is under attack.  I don't want to give away too much, but the Enterprise looks very authentic and no pictures are allowed during the actual Experience.  Next you are put in a shuttle craft for a ride,( and if you suffer from motion sickness or back injuries, you shouldn't ride).  After the shuttle journey, you are conveniently left off on Deep Space Nine, in front of Quarks Bar and the Promenade Shops where you can buy all sorts of Star Trek merchandise.  There are many shops like Garak's shop and the Admiral's Shop.  They have everything from Star Trek sweat and T-shirts, caps, key chains, videos, shot glasses, mugs, Vulcan Bears, Tribbles, mouse pads, (I picked up a great one with the Federation communicator symbol on it) and various other items.  While you are shopping, keep a eye out for the Klingon's walking around, like the Ferengi, they just sneak up on you either in the Promenade or in the shops themselves.

This Klingon was very authentic looking and acting.  He spoke both Klingon and English and was scary to say the least.  His counterpart below actually smiled and was slightly more pleasant, he must not have had a warriors heart.

After shopping there's always Quarks Bar and Restaurant to eat in.  The atmosphere was very Star Trek.  The Enterprises A and D are overhead along with Voyager.

The food at Quarks was good.  The menu was an adventure in itself.  You have to read the entire description to decipher exactly what you are eating.  Such menu items include: Isolinear Chips and Dips, Bird of Prey (chicken sandwich) Warp-Wrap (steak and peppers wrap), Wrap of Khan (chicken and peppers), Hamborger, Talaxian Turkey Wrap, BBQ Continuum Pizza, Crab Nebula (a seafood pizza), Fisherman's Worf, Tribble Tenders, Cardassian Calamarri with Yamok sauce (marinara), and Frozen Gagh, (ice cream).

Here me and my boyfriend Enzo, who is not a Star Trek fan, sit at Quarks.  I'm holding up the menu, and behind Enzo you can see more of what the restaurant looks like. Despite the fact Enzo's not a huge fan, he still enjoyed himself.

The only thing more impressive than the food menu was the drink menu.  There were 100's to chose from.  They had everything from Klingon Blood Wine (a dry Merlot) and Romulan Ale (Warsteiner Beer) with blue coloring!

Now I must admit, I'm not a die-hard Trekkie.  I don't speak Klingon, I don't know the engineering schematics for the Enterprise, and I don't know on what Stardate Spock was born.  However, I can "talk the talk" of Star Trek lingo to a certain extent.  I had no problem communicating with a Ferengi that came by my table when I was eating.  He said for 19 strips of latinum or $19, I could partake of one of Rom's favorite drinks.  It's served in a fish-bowl, contains 5 liquors, and will "give you a kick!"  I noticed all of the other patrons were enjoying that Ferengi beverage.  I told the Ferengi, that my boyfriend Enzo had all of the latinum, and it was up to him if he wanted to purchase the drink.  The Ferengi proceeded to tell me on his planet, females have no latinum, however on this planet, "hu-man females hold the purse strings!"  I said, not this female, I don't have a job, and had the coffee instead.

Here I stand in front of the Restaurant, getting ready to leave my Experience.
