Thursday July 29. 1999................Polaris

Sarah and I leave early to drive from Saginaw, Mi to Columbus, OH because we are going to see Jordan Knight perform.  It was about a five or six hour trip but we figured it was all worth it.  We get to Columbus, and we were so hungry that after we checked into our hotel we went to get something to eat.  So, we go to Wendy's which is right by our hotel and we realize as we are driving there that people kept staring at us and we figured ok, Michigan plates.   So we got our food, which I could hardly eat just because it was quite warm and I was getting really excited.  I hadn't seen Jordan in concert since 1991 and Sarah hadn't seen him since 1994.  While we are getting ready to leave, there was a sheriff sitting near us and Sarah over hears then talking about us saying that once you hit 30 you don't have a chance with girls like us.  lol.  What the hell does that mean?

So, we go back to the hotel and get ready for the concert.  Due to ticketmaster being dumbasses, we had lawn seats for Polaris Amphitheater.  We get there without too much trouble and get into this massive crowd.   All of these girls were singing NSYNC which at the time we did not like at all.   So Sarah and I were singing Jordan songs very quietly, but girls around us were cracking up and everyone kept asking us "you're not here to see NSYNC are you?"   Of course, we told them we were here for Jordan.  So they let us in and we immediately went to the other gates to be let into the seating area.  We stood there a little bit and then some music started and I said, "that's Jordan".  He was doing his sound check and unfortunately, the stage was just barely out of site.   So we asked security, is that Jordan those liars said that it was a tape.  I said no way is that a tape.  Anyway, as happens in the course of standing in line, someone asked where we were from and we told them and it got around pretty quick and a security guard asked us if it were true I said yeah, and he really couldn't believe it.

So the let us in and we (as total blondes) forgot a blanket or anything to sit on.  So there were two girls and there mom behind us and asked if we wanted to sit with them.  So we did.  They were so nice and the older daughter liked both Jordan and Joe so we talked about that for a while.  We had also heard about the after party at Mekka and asked directions.  No one seemed to know exactly where it was.  We weren't sure we were going to go, but just in case.   So, 3rd story came on and then Sugar Hill Gang, neither of which I remember much.   Then they lowered Jordan's banner and Sarah and I went nuts. lol.  It was like we were 14 again.  We just started screaming and jumping and people around us were laughing at us.  Then he came on and OMG did he look and sound so very very good.   He sang, A Different Party, Never Take The Place of Your Man, Close My Eyes, and of course, Give It To You.  We were the only ones that we could see that knew the words to all the songs.  And it went by so quick.  Before we knew it, he was gone.   So depressing. lol.  So we sat down for a while and then decided to go to the restroom.  While Sarah went, I went to see what Jordan stuff they had.  When we got to the front of the line, one of the male workers asked us something or other anyway, he found out that we drove from MI and he said it was a waste of gas.  We whatever, jealous. lol.

We did not watch any of NSYNC's show and we got really really close to getting backstage to meet Jordan but the punkass left.   Funny, though, Sarah said jokingly that he'd probably head to Detroit and spend Friday, which they had off, in Detroit.  I said no way.  Guess where Jordan spent Friday?  Yup, Detroit. That's our luck.

Thursday July 29, 1999........Mekka

So after the concert, we decide, hey, we are in this city and have nothing else to do so let's go to Mekka.  We had gotten really good directions from the guy that almost got us backstage.  So we go.  Of course, it is this small club with about twice as many people there than should have been.   We were, obviously, hoping that Jordan might show up.  No such luck there.   However, NSYNC was there and as I said before neither of us were what you'd call fans. lol.  So there were these windows off to the side that you could see into another room.  I didn't know what it was so I went over to look.  Nothing much.   I was walking back to where Sarah was, and all of a sudden, NSYNC comes in and there is this massive tidal wave toward them. lol.  The next thing I know, I am moving and yet my feet are not touching the ground at all.  Then I look up and I am smooshed right in to Justin.  I felt like a big dork because I would never have done that on my own, and I'm like "ah...sorry...not doing this myself..."  he laughed a little and said he knew.  Then he moves and I start to fall into Joey and he gives me a boost. lol.  So funny because out of everyone there, I should have been the LAST person in that position.  I'm sure I didn't enjoy it as much as some others would have. lol.  Anyway, that night, we find out that Joey is a major dog.   MAJOR!!!!

Saturday July 31, 1999 - Pontiac Silverdome

Ok, so this is two days later.  Sarah came over and we decorated my car.  On the rear passenger windows is said "Jordan Knight, baby, Jordan Knight", and on the rear window, it said "12 years later and we're still Jordan Freaks.  12 years later and he's still Kickin' Ass."  On the way down we got lots of stares and people honked.  It was great.  We get closer and closer to Pontiac and the sky looks nasty.  We were like, Ok, maybe it'll rain.  We pull into the Silverdome and the guards tell us to stay in our cars there are tornadoes in the area.  Stay in the car in a flat parking lot in a tornado?  He could not have been from Michigan. lol  So we hauled ass to the nearest hotel which was the Hilton Suites.  We run in with some other girls and they took us to safety.  We were there a while and we were calming some girls down with stories from the Columbus show.  Then finally the all clear was given.   We hauled back to the Silverdome, waited outside forever and finally got in.   The opening acts were INOJ, Michael Africk, 3rd story and Sugar Hill, most of whom I never heard of.  Then came Jordan.  OMG, we freaked out and started screaming at the top of our lungs and at one point he even heard us on stage and acknowledged our screaming.  Then came the interesting part.

We found this guy, who was security for NSYNC.  We just asked him if Jordan had his own people floating around or not.   We wanted to know to tell them that Jordan had fans for himself there that night figuring that support could help his career.  Anyway, this guys says to us that he will tell us how to get backstage to this or any concert if we meet him at Motel six room ____ and bring beer.  I almost laughed right in his face.  That was too funny.   I couldn't believe he propositioned us, not that it was the first time or anything, but we just asked a general question not asking him to take us back there or anything.

Ok, then came NSYNC and we did actually stay this time.  It was better than I thought it would be, Sarah too, but still not huge fans.

Saturday September 11, 1999......Bogarts

Bogarts was really cool.  It was Sarah's birthday and we were in another city.  Of course, in line we were talking to some girls and having a great old time.  When we got in there it was so tight that you could hardly move but luckily there so many cool people around us it was just a ball.   Unfortunately, this red haired cow tried to maneuver her way up.  Being that there was NO room, people started to say stuff to her and you know, stuff happened.   She argued with this really nice girl and stuff, but the cow kept telling me I better watch myself and all this other stuff.  All I was doing is standing there.   Sarah, my protector, said she was just waiting for the girl to touch me and then she was jumping on her. lol.  Then the cow tried to make room for her friend make a bunch of us almost fall.  I figured if I was going down so was she so I grabbed her hair and started to fall back.  She pulled me back up. lol.  The funniest thing was that there was a younger girl behind us, and you know how it is when you are packed together for a while, you talk and everybody finds out everyone's names and stuff.   The lights when out and all I heard was "Heather duck", so I did and this young girl was pegging pennies at her head. lol.  Enough so that the cow moved and ended up punching a 15 year old in the face.  One thing to say.  Bitch.

So Joe comes on and mind you it has been since 91 that I had seen him and I went nuts.  Of course, since we were so very close, I wouldn't scream when he was on our side of the stage because that is not the face I would want him to see if he happened to catch a glimpse of me. lol.  So I didn't lose my voice, but the concert so Rocked.

After the concert we were walking out and who did we see?  Tyrone Sutton who opened for Joe.  You remember?  Perfect Gentlemen.  We talked with him for a while and then went back to the hotel.

Wednesday September 15, 1999.....Royal Oak

Oh it so kicked ass.  We met a couple of girls in line that it so happens we talk to online.  We were standing there chatting and I (Heather) see this person playing with a soccer ball and he was running on the side of the theatre.  I look and look again, then try to get Sarah's attention quietly because it was Joe.  He ran right next to us  and then went in.   Hardly no one noticed him at first, but then everyone did and all the freaks started screaming.  Nothing chases a person away like screaming in their face. lol.

So the concert started and it was great.   We also got some sweet pics thanks to Sarah, and after the show we spoke with Tyrone Sutton, again.  He's really cool.

The coolest part of the entire concert and the part I remember the best is that at the end of the show when Joe was going to our side of the stage to shake hands and stuff, he looked up.  Right at Sarah and me.   First he saw me and pointed then he saw Sarah and did the same thing.  He recognized us from Cincinnati a few days before.  That was the best.

We waited out back by Joe's bus for like ever.  We were talking with this bodyguard for the theatre and he was so funny.   We were trying to explain to him what it was about Joe that makes us all weak and then all of a sudden Joe was right there. lol.  Again, the freaks started running and screaming.  Sarah pushed her way up and could have jumped on the bus if she had wanted to. lol.  I would have bailed her out of Jail.  I think Joe said something to her (Hopefully, she will tell me again, so I can put it up here) and they were off.
