Golden Heart (1996)
In my opinion this is the work of a truly mature songwriter. He's
the Mark Knopfler I admire. He puts some seeds of his outstanding
guitar playing, but not making this simply a "guitarist album", not wrapping his
fingers hopelessly around the guitar neck, not needing to pulse the strings one
time for millisecond to prove he's the best. No! He goes in other way, a
"simple" solo (for instance, the one in the song Golden Heart), puts all the
feeling on the strings...our hearts stop pulsing...he IS the best.
We have now in our hands the product of the best musician and songwriter now
in the world. The spirit of Dire Straits will never die!
