Coat-of-Arms Flag
On October 29, 1918 Croatian Parliament (Sabor) abandon all state-juridical relations with the Kingdom of Hungary and Empire of Austria and as free country Croatia entered into the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. It was newly formed union of south Slavic peoples living in now former Austro-Hungary. It existed only for about month. In this short living state, there were issued several post stamps. One of them shows a Croatian coat-of-arms quite similar to 1867-1918 design, only this time without crown and the six-pointed star in Slavonian arms is in below blue field, not above, which is missing. Probably this design was not an official one, but an artistically expression of the designer Rudolf Valiæ who made the stamp, together with Rudolf Sabljak. Croatian flag at that time was plain tricolour, i.e. civil flag from 1867-1918 era.
