The Interactive Hair Inspector (IHI) is a web based application for anyone and everyone. The purpose of the IHI is to give the general populace an opportunity to check their coiffe for either the presence of or the absence of unruliness, flyaways, and cowlicks.
2. How does the IHI work?
The IHI works by using high-level background contrast in the user's immediate environment. As the photons (particles of light) are projected from their source (usually a wound filament), the emmisions are reflected by a mirrored source. Yet, when there is an object that impedes the track of these light particles (namely, the user's head), what is commonly called a silhouette is produced. By using this framed image on a user's screen, a person can check the outline of the image to check for either the presence of or the absence of unruly hair abnormalities.
3. Why is there an IHI?
Let's face it, when you go out into public, you don't have to look at you, others do. Therefore, the responsibility is yours to keep the environment "friendly" for everyone in your vicinity.
4. But my hair isn't like everyone else's. Will the IHI work for me?
The answer is yes. In the interests of creating and maintaining tolerance, the IHI has been specifically configured to work for all hairstyles, no matter how outrageous, attention-grabbing, or outlandish. However, the user must still remember that it is the user's responsibility to help maintain a friendly environment for everyone else. Therefore, use the IHI cautiously.
