The Blues Monsters are the latest group in the growing Olympia, Washington blues scene. Tight arrangements, virtuoso solos, great lead vocals, and one of the funkiest rhythm sections in town have earned the Blues Monsters a growing fan base in less than a year.

The members bring a variety of backgrounds to the Blues Monsters. Don Morris (Bass/vocals), Chris Meagher (Drums) and Ian Weintraub (Guitar/vocals) have played professionally for the last 20 years and vocalist Linda Farr’s performing background includes theater production and musicals. Although this is Jeffrey Showman’s first band, he’s been playing blues harp for over 20 years - he brings with him a vast knowledge of blues, soul, and R&B music.

The Blues Monsters’ sound appeals to a wide cross-section of music lovers - both young and old. Besides crossing generational boundaries, the band’s music goes beyond the confines of traditional blues music, mixing blues, funk, rock and soul. Along with their original material the band’s repertoire includes music by Freddy King, Lowell Fulson, O.V. Wright, and tunes by modern artists such as Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt, and Debbie Davies.

The Blues Monsters have performed at TESC’s Super Saturday, Olympia’s Sylvester Park, Lakefair Celebration in Olympia, The Matrix in Chehalis, The 4th Ave. Tavern, Hannnah's Bar, All That Jazz, The Tequila Bar and Charlie’s Tavern in Olympia, WA.
