This Page is Dedicated to the Most Incredible Guitar Player, Ritchie Blackmore
A lot of people have said some (not nice) things about TMIB. I say, lets not be so quick to judge. Most bands end up not liking one another for whatever reasons. Deep Purple is one of those bands. Just because the other members of the band had bad things to say, doesn't mean that Ritchie didn't have good reasons to want to leave Deep Purple. Either way, it must have been a hard decision to make especially in the middle of a tour. Maybe he did travel by himself, and maybe he did have to have certain things "his" way. Don't get me wrong, I am not taking sides, honest. Deep Purple will ALWAYS be my favorite band, always has, always will. But, I'm just saying, that there were probably things going on in Deep Purple that fans like us will never know of. So us fans shouldn't be so quick to judge either way. Who knows? I have watched all the "greats" in guitar, playing live on stage(Peter Townshend, Joe Satriani, Martin Barre, David Gilmore, Yngwie, Tony Iommi, and so many others I can't list them all) and Ritchie always sets himself apart as a showman and composer. I play the guitar pretty well and think I have the right to say that Ritchie is better than mostly all of the "great ones" (who else could even try to play Beethoven's 9th, in concert, on a Fender!!). I have never seen(or even heard of) a band that was so "together" on stage, than Deep Purple. Gillin and Blackmore seemed meant to be. My opinion is that the two were always trying to upstage one another, and that is why Deep Purple was the highest quality of Rock and Roll music available. I love all these guys Ritchie, Ian, Ian, Jon, and last but not least, Roger. Maybe someday we will see Ritchie with Deep Purple again. The band is Deep Purple, Ritchie is Deep Purple. Ian Gillin is my favorite vocalist, Ritchie Blackmore is my favorite guitarist. Please guys, get together again, having you apart again and listening to the separate music is really great. But, together, (Ritchie, Ian Gillan and Deep Purple) are UNBELIEVABLE!!
This is all my opinion, thanks for reading. Tony C.
