The Birch Hill Nite Club (short) Review

First I'd like to say that I took these pictures with the camera held high in the air on my toes, so they are not perfect.

The place was packed! Maybe about 700 to 900 people in that dive nite club. My ears are still ringing, it was LOUD!! Rainbow did a lot of Dio stuff. Dougie sang Dio perfectly. Ritchie looks great, Candice looks even better! She basically stood in the background doing backing vocals that no one could hear anyway. The trademark white Fender Strat was a natural wood color with a varnish. " The Man" hasn't lost his touch, at all. He jammed with the grace of a king on stage. He seemed very happy and was waving and shaking hands all around. I wasn't quite close enough for a hand shake myself. The crowd was nuts, I was getting shoved all over the place just to maintain my spot about 10 feet from the stage in the center. The crowd was very different from the Deep Purple crowd. A lot of long haired heavy metal and leather at this one. Ritchie played a variety of Rainbow. I won't bother with the set list because it is basically the same. Although Temple of the King was performed for the first time in the USA for us! Ritchie played a LOUD HARD DRIVING show. Simply put, INCREDIBLE !!
