DOLPHIN BOY

Mark Anthony Patrick Owen was born on the night of a full moon, on a boat called the Titanic. Unfortunately, this particular boat sank but thankfully Mark was one of the few survivers. As he plummeted down to the depths of the ocean, a beautiful mermaid came to his rescue and gave him special powers so that he could live under water. Mark grew up with the whole of the oceans sea-creatures as his friends. Even the hammer-head shark was beautiful in Marks eyes. But his best friend of all, was a dolphin named Flipper. They spent each day together swimming, playing and laughing and at night the mermaid would tuck him into his cosy bed made from an oyster shell. Mark was extremely happy living his life like this. But there was one small problem. The magic powers that the mermaid had given him could only work for a ceratin number of years, and then they would wear off and Mark would have to return to his real home, the land. When she thought the time was right, the mermaid sat Mark down and told him this. As you can imagine, Mark was distraught, as he'd only ever seen a passing glimpse of the outside world. Flipper tried to help Mark think of a way in which he could stay in the sea, but to no avail. Mark was doomed to return to the land. When the day came, Mark waved goodbye to his friends, and they all shed tears as Mark left the sea for the last time, promising them that he would visit them whenever possible. Mark went back to the land and tried to make a life for himself, however, he could not get a job anywhere, as he had no qualifications....after all, he'd never been to school! One day he saw a busker, sitting on the side of the road, sining for money. Mark decided that he too would try this, and when the people of the town heard Mark's sweet voice, they all stopped to listen. One person asked Mark how he had learnt to sing so beautifully and Mark replied that a mermaid had tought him. Everyone laughed, Mark did not know why. Then a man byt the name of Nigel Martin-Smith came along and told Mark that he was looking for people to start up a band and that his voice would be a huge asset to the group. As Mark had nothing else to do and nowhere else to go, he agreed. He met four other guys and when he told them where he was from, they all believed him. Mark was instantly happy, for no one had ever believed him before. Infact, the other four felt so sorry for Mark, that they treated him to a free tattoo of his best friend, Flipper. Constellation
