Getting together in the early '90's, The Wallflowers began unveiling
their soulful style of rock 'n' roll to earger crowds in their hometown
of Los Angeles. Fronted by the heart felt sound of Jakob Dylan, this
unique quintet soon released their first record in 1992 which recieved
impressive attention from Rolling Stone Magazine, awarding it 3-1/2 stars.
Additionally, Musician Magazine awarded it "most impressive debut by a
real rock 'n' roll band." Ultimately the band's first album became a
standout. With mainstream eyes and ears suddenly on them, the group
landed tours with bands such as the Spin Doctors, Cracker, Toad the
Wet Sprocket and 10,000 Maniacs. Moving on to bigger and better things,
changes were made with personnel and for business reasons. The group
found themselves searching for some new members as well as a new record
label. Dylan and keyboardist Rami Jaffe teamed up with the new lineup
along with a new record deal. Signing to Interscope, The Wallflowers
recorded their second album, Bringing Down The Horses, which builds
off the strength of classic instrumentation and Dylan's unmistakable
voice.
