Subject: Greetings fellow pavers
Hello Colleagues:
I'm new to this mailing list but pleased to see the internet is being
harnessed to facilitate discussions important to improving the global
transportation infrastructure. I have been active in construction and civil
engineering for 37 years and much of my research and applied work is
directed towards improving pavement quality and asphalt design. People
don't often consider pavement because it's taken for granted. Road surfaces
only get public attention when they fail and potholes begin ripping vehicles
apart. It is a problem, I admit, but the people on this list are certainly
aware of the tremendous breakthroughs and accomplishments of recent asphalt
technology. I look forward to a productive discussion. Let's pave the world!
