Bush

New Haven Coliseum - April 11, 1997

The New Haven Coliseum came alive Friday night in anticipation of seeing Britain's hottest band - Bush. Opening for Bush was Veruca Salt who put on a great performance. These gold-plated girls rocked around the stage and did more than warm-up the audience. They're ready to headline their own tour.

When Bush busted the stage open they just didn't quit. Smoke filled the Coliseum and UFO style lights blinded the audience. We were treated to the talents of Gavin Rossdale (vocals/guitar), Nigel Pulsford (guitar), Robin Goodridge (drums) and Dave Parsons (bass) playing in support of their newest CD Razorblade Suitcase. The fans just ate it all up as they rocked to such hits as Everything Zen, Little Things, Comedown, Glycerine and Machinehead. At one point Gavin yelled at security for messing with his fans. He said "just leave them alone!"

At encore time the fans had to work hard to get Bush to come back out on stage. I thought the roof was going to cave in before they finally came back and went on to play Swallowed. These boys put on one hell of a show! The sound was intense and the video graphics were psychedelic.
