Bruce Dickinson

Accident Of Birth

CMC International Records

Finally, a Bruce Dickinson album that blows his former band Iron Maiden out of the water! Accident Of Birth is a “scary metal record” in the words of Dickinson and he’s right. Joining Bruce on his fourth solo album is Adrian Smith who was his bandmate on Maiden’s Number Of The Beast and Piece Of Mind. So it’s no accident that this album rocks! And it’s got a completely different feel from Dickinson’s last release Skunkworks which was “exceptionally morose” according to Bruce. Returning from the Balls To Picasso lineup is Roy Z on guitar, mellatron, and piano, and Eddie Casillias on bass. Roy Z also produced this masterpiece. Newcomer David Ingraham rounds out the group on drums.

The title track is a headbanger's dream with ripping leads that chase you down. Three of the tracks include violin and cello which really tighten up the sound. The Magician is pure metal with it’s mythical lyrics and hard leads.

Accident Of Birth delivers nearly sixty minutes of pounding old-fashioned heavy metal. Check it out on CMC International Records.
