The Offspring

Conspiracy of One

Columbia

A lot of today's alternative bands sound the same. There are a few bands which are easily recognizable, and this is one of them. As soon as you hear one chord you can tell it is The Offspring, and that my friends is great! In typical Offspring fashion, this CD is loud and aggressive, but somehow is melodic. This quality is what sets them apart from other alternative bands that have a heavy sound. I like them because they deal with the issues that we are surrounded by today, but in a fun way. For example, "One Fine Day" deals with sports fans that go crazy and destroy things, and "Special Delivery" talks of stalking and blowing people away (by the way, I love the samples used here). Other highlights include "Original Prankster" (check out the sample from "Lowrider" from War), and "Want you Bad". This high-decible CD features intense playing, straight to the point arrangements, and plenty of humor. This album kicks-ass Offspring style.
