Rage Against The Machine

Renegade

Epic

Fans saddened by the demise of Rage will love this CD, however, I for one was disappointed with it. The disc is a collection of hip-hop, rock, and punk covers. To me it lacked the vibe that the other Rage CD's had. However, there are some tracks that have the vibe, such as "Kick Out The Jams", "Renegades Of Funk", "Maggies Farm", and a version of the Rolling Stones "Street Fighting Man". If one didn't know better, they would think that Rage penned these songs themselves. While the disc lacked vibe, Tom Morrello's playing did not. This guy just plain rocks! His riffing, soloing, and the unique sounds he coaxes from his guitar are great. So the bottom line is there are a few good tracks but the rest is lacking.
