Steve Stevens

Flamenco.A.Go.Go

Ark 21 Records

Most people remember Steve Stevens for his guitar work with Billy Idol (and most notably his ray gun effect on "Rebel Yell"). Well folks, this is a totally different Steve Stevens! These days he seems more comfortable playing a nylon string acoustic rather than his electric. This album is a departure fom the days of the Atomic Playboys and Black Light Syndrome. It is filled with guitar, guitar synths, keyboards, and loops. The songs were produced, arranged, and recorded beautifully. There are textures abound and some great playing. Notable songs are "Flamenco.A.Go.Go", "Cinecitta", "Our Man In Istanbul", and "Dementia". If you are a fan of guitar music or just looking for something different you may want to give this a listen.
