Skingame

Skingame

Produced by Ted Paduck and Skingame

Skingame’s new self-titled release -- recorded at Sound Techniques in Boston -- provides a combination of electronic rock, complete with a groove-heavy rhythm section, with haunting melodic guitar lines and an abundance of electronic textures.

The concept of electronic music, coupled with taking the name from the 1931 Hitchcock film, was developed by vocalist Scott Shunk and keyboardist Brad Solomon. However, their identifiable sound emerged with the addition of bassist Dustin DiTommaso, guitarist Mark Jackson, and drummer Steve Kilroy.

I especially like “Slow Death” with its heavy dose of funky guitar rhythms provided via generous amounts of wah-wah effect. The real strength of the band would seem to lie in the rhythm section, as pulsating grooves permeate throughout the entire CD.

Skingame can currently be seen at clubs in the Boston area and throughout New England. Check out Skingame’s website for tour information.
