Why do I have an entire web site devoted to Eddie Vedder rather than his band Pearl Jam?
Though I love Pearl Jam, I feel their singer is an interesting and inspiring individual. I truly relate to and respect Eddie. This is much more than just your typical Eddie Vedder fan's page. His depth and complexity deserves more than that.A lot has been said about the man lately, and this website is not intended to be another venture into the analysis of Mr Vedder. I don't know him, and I've never met him, but I believe he has a lot of important things to say. I think it's of more valuable to read his words and decide for yourself.
I truly relate to the lyrics he writes, the words he says, and the principles he stands for. One of my favorite of Eddie's songs is Alive. Although the story is fictitious, it is a powerful vehicle and reveals much about the man who wrote it. If you read nothing else from this page, please read these two excerpts:
