I will try to write about Megadeth's concert at Woodstock '99. I have included sond clips (mp3 format) from what Dave said to the crowd and two solos. Every link is a sound clip. It can be pretty big so be patient when you download it. Here we go:

The television broadcast began at the end of Holy Wars..The Punishment Due so I didn't hear so much from that. What I heard was great. Then came In My Darkest Hour. Oh man, they played it well. I really like that song and they performed it very well. After that came Reckoning Day. That one was great as well. Now it's time for Dave say something to the crowd. He said:

"Good fucking evening! All right. Welcome to Woodstock! You know, we spent the better half of the day down at that end because that's were our dressing rooms are. And we had to drive whole the way down here to get ready to play, and I tell ya... down there. ZZZZZ. Booorringgg."

And the crowd loved it. A Secret Place is next. Plays it well. Then Angry Again. Very cool song. Then he asks the crowd this:

"Thank you! This next song we're gonna do for you is about a person in particular before we get going I wanna, I wanna ask you all a question real quick. How many of you guys..and this is for the guys only, how many of you guys out there have dated a fucking evil woman?" (Guys screem) "And now, the more important question. How many of you women out there today, are those evil fucking women?" (women screem) "Dave laughs"

After that, they of course played She-Wolf. And here is a solo that Dave and Marty did in the song. First there's Dave, then there's Marty and then together. After She-Wolf, Marty showed of his great guitar skills with this awesome solo. Then came my favorite song, A Tout Le Monde, and they performed it very well too. Almost Honest came next. Great also. After that Dave tried to get the crowd to sing along on Crush 'Em. Here's how he did it:

"Thank you very much! This next number that we're gonna do for you is from our new record Risk. And, it's real, real, real, real easy for you to sing along with me. There's only two words I want you to say, I want you to say Crush and I want you to say Crush 'Em but we're gonna practice okey? Real quick..CRUSH! (crowd goes CRUSH!), CRUSH! (crowd goes CRUSH! again), CRUSH! (crowd goes CRUSH! again). Nice shot, you throw as good as your mother sucks!"

While singing he things that the crowd can sing along better: "Come on! You can do better than that."
After Crush 'Em, the crowd screems MEGADETH. Dave gets an acoustic guitar to get ready to play Use The Man. During the song he changes guitar to an electric. For Trust, Dave uses a double "necked" guitar. Looks really cool. The song is great. After this song, something funny happends. A guy in the crowd points a laser at Dave. He got annoyed and said this:

"I see who you are with the laser you little dickhead. Oh, aren't you so cool. ohohohohoh. Yeah I saved all my allowance from mommy to go and buy a laser so I could shine it at Dave. I bet you're probably still a virgin, aren't you peckerwood. How about you be cool so the people around you don't beat your fucking brains in and let me play guitar okey? Thank you. DUH! See, when I'm up here and I got the fucking microphone I can say what ever I want to. Okey."

Sweating Bullets and Symphony Of Destruction were next. They were great as well. Dave said that the next song would be the last. Also dedicated it to Gar Samuelson. Here's his speech:

"Thank you! Listen, look right there see that little yellow light. That means we got 5 minutes left till the end of Woodstock 1999. Okey, so we have time for one more song and before we do this, I'm gonna a...I'd like to dedicate this song to somebody who was a member of Megadeth who recently died. I don't know if you know this or not but our first drummer Gar Samuelson died on July 14th and we'd like to dedicate this song to the loving memorence to Gar, okey. So those of you that had a chance to see Gar play with us or those of you that know him, you're really lucky he was a great guy and we're gonna miss you Gar."

Peace Sells was also great. I think that it was a nice thing to do, by dedicating it to Gar.

So what can I say about the concert? Well, it was actually the first time I have seen Megadeth at a live concert so it was really exciting. I have no complains. Jimmy DeGrasso did well. One thing I didn't like was that Marty and Jimmy had cut their hair a bit. Too bad. Oh well. I'm gonna see Megadeth on September the 18th here in Sweden and I look forward to that. Hope to hear much new material. Risk is only about a month away from being released (wrote this on July 30th). I could'nt include the songs from the concert because it would be to big files. Anyway I hope you liked this "review" of the concert. Comment me on it if you'd like. Remember, I'm Swedish so if the spelling is incorrect somewhere it's because my first language isn't English.
