I purchased my 1969 Torino in 1973 had it for 5 yrs. It was champange gold, it had a 351w 2v fmx. She came w/factory gray wheels w/beauty rings & gt caps, I found factory chrome wheels on a montego and put them on her she looked great. By the way I like your web site. I had a 68 GT fastback when I was in highschool (late 80's). It was white with red pinstripe and burgundy interior. It was my grandfather's car and my dad drove it home from TX when he died. We did a lot of work on that car together. Unfortunately, my 1st husband lost it (yes, lost it) somewhere around Orlando FL in 1989. Sure wish I had my car today. My dream is to find that car again, buy it and fix it up.

Hi. I just read your healthy list of comments from lots of Torino fans. I think I'm a little intimindated with all that "Muscle". But, I would like to say that in 1979, while in Highschool, I bought my first car for $600. You might have seen one: 1971 Ford, Torino, G.T., 2Dr. Hardtop, with 351C, C-6. I still own the car at 90% restored. Anyone have any suggestions on how to refurbish the linkage at the bottom of the steering column? Great sight! James

First off i just want to say your site is great. I have a 1971 ford torino 2dr hard top i recieved from my grandfather. My great-grandfather bought it new in 1970, and he didn't drive it very often. It never went over 45 mph, and never out of my small tow . When he got older he parked it in his garage and there it sat for about 10 years until i recieved it. When we pulled it out(with a tractor) it looked DIRTY, but we washed it off done some work and now it looks like a cherry. It has the original 302 2V V with only 26,000 miles on it! When i got it, it only had 24,000 i have put on 2,000 since then. It is in great condition for not really restoring it any. It still has the original paint which looks great as well. I love that car, i don't think i will eve get rid of it. It's my first car too!

'69 Torino for sale. Its an aqua and white 4 door with cloth interior. The car is essentially untouched, except for regular maintenance. Its a 351 four barrel, with dual exhaust, Traction-Lok rear, power disk brakes, tinted glass, and a three-speed-sti k on the column. I bought the car from the original owner and I have the original sales write-up, dealer invoice, and warranty cards. The car is overall a very nice car and has been my daily driver for 2 years. Love your page me and my dad currently own 4 Torino,Fairlanes a 68 Fairlane he is restoring with a 289 highpo as motivation a 68 Torino with a hell of a 289 in it a 69 Torino GT Fastback with 41000 miles on it he bought it with 32000 it has a 351 and my p ide and joy a 68 Fairlane 500 Fastback sans motor and tranny thinkin of puttin either a 351W or a 460. We are currently looking for my Grandads 69 Torino Gt which he bought newand then sold we have located the engine for it and we think the guy who has th engine knows what happened to the body anyways e-mail me if you want to talk torinos.

I also have a 69 Torino GT Fastback. My car is about a 3 in the value guide, worth around $4000. I have put a lot of work into the car just to get it there. The car sat inside for about 15 years before I restored it so there are still leaks and problems Would like to sell or trade for a 68 as that is the year I was born. Re: Derek, 723HP out of most likely a stock saleen with NO2. Sure,,,,, How much CRACK have you been smoking? If your car makes so much power why aren't you all over the covers of every Ford magazine? To put this into perspective Billy Gliddens car makes approx 850 HP on the motor so you would have to be running just a little behind him. I don't think so.. Oh, and if you think you can outrun a Torino try going up against a Bud Moore prepared NASCAR Winston Cup Torino capable of almost 200 MPH.

I recently purchased a '74 Gran Torino from some family members,($800), wich is realy good for a/any car that runs like an angel, has very few miles on it(I mean very few) and has no dents sratches or anything at all wrong with it. It has a black vynil top,302 V8 2 brrl, yellow, green viynl interior, bench seats,and an aotumatic. I'm planning on painting it an britter shade of yellow, adding two black racing stripes, giving her new Good-Year tires, some nice mags, a rear spoiler, so e bucket seats, shifter in the floor, getting some viynl dye(black), and a new steering wheel. That's all that I can think of right now but be asured that my car will be the most beutiful Torino ever driven on the road.

had a 71 with a 302, edelbrock mini-hi rise manifold, holly 4 bbl, mallory dual point ignition, sig ereson (sic) racing cam, ford lime green with the vinyl roof and the tackiest yet greatest tan vinyl interior with a bench seat and god i loved that car !! !!!! I now own a 1973 Gran Torino Sport with the fastback, 351 Winsor with factory 4-spd and husrt shifter. The car is so excellent cause it is unique. WHen I go to shows I see so many mustangs, Mopars, t-birds and 57 Chevys. My grandfather has a '69 Torino with a 428 just sitting in his garage wasting away! It's only got about 30K on the odometer. It probably hasn't been turned over for at least 10 or 15 years. The second is a parts car- a std. 2DR- met. bronze with a 351W,FMX,and tan vinyl flight bench. The third is same color and drivetrain as the second, but it's a Sportsroof with brown vinyl buckets.I'm still driving this one "as is", but I plan to restify this car using the interior and drivetrain from the first car as this one ha a lot less cancer and the blue and black is far better looking. I just picked up the fourth last weekend- a baby blue 2DR with locked up 351W for parts. I would like to see some postings on NOS, good used, and repro. parts sources others have used for th '72 to '76 models. Also, does anyone have any production numbers for cars like my first?

Just thought I'd add in a little info about my Torino. 1973 Gran Torino Sport Fastback. Yellow with laser stripes. Had it painted the original color a few years ago. I made sure that the stripes that were put back on were exactly as they originally we e. The colors had to be perfect. They did a really nice job. The bench seat has been restitched 3 times and it keeps splitting in the same seam. When I get the money I'll find someone who knows what they're doing and get it done right. I've made some inor modifications. The 351 C has been rebuilt. It has a Comp. Cam: 280 duration, 526 lift (makes for a very intimidating sound). Edelbrock dual-plane aluminum intake with a Holley 650 Double Pumper. Headers. Dual-point distributor. I had the FMX tr nsmission rebuilt and had a shift kit installed and a 2500 stall torque converter built for it. Barks second gear every time. Had 3.50 rear end gears installed. Hauls pretty good for a 2 ton car. I'll send pictures soon.

I have two 68 Torino GTs, a red 2DRHT, 390, and a blue convertible. I have been working on the HT for a few years, just needs paint now. I rebuild the 390 as a 4V GT with a Performer 390 man. and the coresponding cam, bored it .040 over, balanced it and s uck a Holly 735 on top. Put a Mal. elec. dist. and elec. advance and promaster coil on a few months ago. She's smooth. The convertible I justed purchased for $1,500. The 302 4BBL, C4 runs great, The top, interior, and paint need a large degree of fresheni g though. Well, that's why I bought, I'm pretty much done with my Hard Top. When I was 17teen I own a 1975 Grand Sport Torino. I think it was a low production model. It was red with a 1/4 white top. Factory sport rims. The inside was the best thing about this car. Right now I have a '72 Gran Torino station wagon that I rescued from the demo. The interior isn't perfect and neither is the body; but its one of the best cars I've had. It is by the way for sale. I'll see if I can send you a picture. My dad painted it Ford blue and white. 351C,97xxx miles.

Cool site dude. I have a Grand Torino Sport Fastback drag race car, but i'm unsure if it is a 72,73,or 74. The picture you have of the '73 does not look like the front end of my car, but then mine is a sport fastback. Mine also has a factory hood scoop. The grille on mine is shaped kind of like a rounded off ovaled stop sign, and the front bumper dips down about 3 or 4 inches and goes underneath the grille. If you know what model it is e-mail me.
