Okay, first thing's first - we finally have confirmation of the title of Rush's new album!
From http://www.atlantic-records.com/rush/index.html:
Not wanting to 'rush' into anything - legendary arena-rockers, Rush, have just put the finishing touches on VAPOR TRAILS, their 17th studio recording. VAPOR TRAILS marks the band's first all-new album since '96, and comes as the follow up to their recent RIAA gold-certified TEST FOR ECHO. The renowned Canadian power trio - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neal Peart (sic) - recorded the album in Toronto, recruiting engineer Paul Northfield (Marilyn Manson, Hole) to assist in production duties. The massively anticipated album is slated to hit stores in May.
WOO HOO!!! The suspected release date is May 14, 2002, and the RUMOURED track listing is as follows:
1. One Little Victory
2. Earthshine
3. Ghost Rider
4. Peaceable Kingdom
5. Secret Touch
6. How It Is
7. Vapor Trails
8. Ceiling Unlimited
9. The Stars Look Down
10. Freeze (Pt. IV of "Fear")
11. Sweet Miracle
12. Nocturne
13. Out Of The Cradle
The first single is supposedly going to be "One Little Victory"; the album was reportedly mixed by David Leonard and mastered by Howie Weinberg, and Hugh Syme is once again working on the album art. As well, a tour is tentatively scheduled to begin in June, and there are rumours that the guys may also tour outside of North America. We'll just have to wait and see!
In other news, Neil is scheduled to release a new book entitled Ghost Rider on June 1st, though other rumours have the book placed for release in April (!!!) in Canada. Either way, it is available for pre-order at Amazon.com. The book is 406 pages long, and in it Neil reportedly "recounts his travels by motorcycle across North America, and also his healing after the death of his wife and daughter". Should prove to be very interesting... :-)
And as for how this site, La Villa Strangiato, is coming along... Well, it's getting there. I'm about halfway through the re-do. I know this is taking a long time, I'm sorry! I can guarantee you that the new site will be up no later than Vapour Trails' release date, which is currently rumoured to be May 14th. With a new album comes a new site :-) As well, I will be moving the site to an ad-free server and keeping this account for personal use, so we'll all get to say G'BYE to the pop-ups! I know that makes me happy...
While you're waiting, feel free to check out my Rush message board, Weird City. We are now AD-FREE, and we're looking for traffic. Check it out!
