Carole and Patrick were among the happiest parents in the world, when they had their first child, Samantha Karen Fox. Along with her younger sister, Vanessa, Sam has one of the best fulfilled family in life.

"My parents are very young" she says, "there's no generation gap. I'm glad they understand me. We talk a lot, and that's good. Without them I don't think I could've done what I've done because of the pressures."

And know who is Sam's "best mate"? Mum Carole of course! Without her Mum, Sam's notoriously untidy self might well have ended up in Spain on a video shoot with sweatshirts and ski-jackets in her suitcase!
