Nice site! I LOVE the song, "In A Big Country"! Last month on the VH1 show The List...for best one-hit wonders...a record-label guy picked In A Big Country. WHOOO! I was running around screaming, "YEAHHH!" Usually the panelists pick the dumbest things. One question about this site...Why no lyrics??? I looked at the lyric site and got a little confused. In IABC I always thought it was, "In a big country...dreams stay w/you...like a lover's voice across the mountain side...stay alive..." That's not what it says on the lyric site. which is correct?! Ive been a fan since '83 and was raging that I missed B.C. at the Phoenix Park on Sunday, 14 August '83 with U2, the day of the Edges' birthday. What a line up with Simple Minds and The Eurythimics also on the bill!! Anyway, finally caught up live with he lads in '84 (18 December, and what a Christmas present it was) at the R.D.S. Main Hall for the Steeltown tour. The Simmonscourt Pavillion in the R.D.S. next hosted you guys in '86 and then we had to endure a three year wait until the gig in the Nation l Stadium in '89. Thankfully, at Feile '90 in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, a packed G.A.A. stadium showed B.C. the respect they deserved ( and always will ) and B.C. showed us their continous sense of humour on stage and their constant willingness to encourag audience/band participation. Unfortunateley I wasn't in Ireland for much of the early to mid-nineties so I missed a few of the "Midnight at The Olympia" gigs but got back on track in '98 and most recently at The Olympia (Thurs, 16 Dec '99). I would like to take this opportunity to p rsonally thank Bruce, Mark, Tony and Stuart for the immense pleasure that both themselves and their music has brought me over the last 17 years. It must be very hard to keep going, writing new material, rehearsing, promoting and endless touring not to me tion trying to keep a family intact. The lads are a credit to society. BIG COUNTRY, in my heart you will always STAY ALIVE. P.S. Get back soon & try not to make it December again. It's always too cold!!! Anyone wanting to e-mail, please feel free. I will reply.

Hello fellow Big Country fans. Nice site here, eh? He did a great job. Nice discography, too. I am lacking No Place Like Home. Gotta get it soon. I just love the remasters that Polygram did - finally giving Big Country the sonics they deserve. I highly recommend them - excellent packaging too. I have been lucky enough to see them live over here a few times - what a great group of musicians. And I own a laserdisc concert video that is great to watch! Keeps the memories alive. I really like a good loud listening session to Peace in our Time, The Seer, and the rest of the titles. Big Country live cd's sound good too comapred to a lot of other rock bands live releases. Just recently got Driving to Damascus - haven't spent enough time listening to it to really start grooving on it. My only complaint - the limited edition cd has nothing informative in it - no lyrics, no recording details, just the cd and the photo. I gues there is a reason for this... Long live Big Country! I started my Big Country passion when I was first introduced to The Crossing shortly after it was released stateside. What a great first release! Such a long time ago, too, it seems... DEG

BC were the 1st band I ever saw (Hammersmith Odeon Jan 88) and been to a few more since! Probably my overall best band and absolutely love their music. I bought the "Restlive Natives & Rarities" CD last week - brilliant! Also have the R.Natives video (watched 100's of times). Don't care what anyone says about them - they are 1 of the best bands and have been for a long time; numerous bands have come & gone but BC still manage to sell out gigs and excite the 1000's of adouring fans - I should know, I'm 1 of them!!!!! looking desperately for help in trying to find somebody who may have seen or remembered of approx 20mins of a show called "ROCK STEADY" which was on channel 4 which featured big country on the through a big country tour around 1990. i love your page and come back regularly, but i thought i'd write that the "new" release KINGS OF EMOTION is an unfortunate rip-off in my opinion. i believe that true fans will buy this release and be disappointed to find that if they own WHY THE LONG FAC , ECLECTIC, BRIGHTON ROCK, they will have 95% of this 32 track collection. in fact, for me, the only 2 tracks i didn't have were the apparent BRIGHTON ROCK extras, "ships" and "rockin in the free world". i'm actually baffled by this release. just thought i'd pass on my opinion if others were interested in buying this cd. see ya!-david

I'm looking for some help on a Big Country video that MTV played years ago and I taped it and now I can't find it. It was a live concert on a New Years celebration. Todays Bc stuff is trash! The first 3 albums were great and the rest of them aren't. P.I.O.T had too much keyboards and sounded too weak. Buffalo Skinners was too heavy but, had a few good songs, but the best parts ended on b-sides. W.T.L.F didn't have an thing positive... All the acoustic tracks...???

Hello all! Great job on the pages. I've been a BC fan since '83 and they are still one of my favorite bands to listen to both as a listener, or as a musician. Their music has brought alot of happieness to my life, and to me that's what it's all about. As musician they have been a huge influence in my approach to music. Stuart still is a major influece to my guitar playing. He has great melodic ideas. I read in muscian type magazines these days about guitar players writing their parts to fit the song. BC as done this since day one. Anyway, it's great to see so many fans and pages for BC. They are one of the greats. Rob
