The Dave Matthews Band Virtual Concert
Below you will find the answers to many frequently asked questions about tDMBVC.

Why do the songs skip?

This is the most common problem people have with tDMBVC. There are many possible causes.

First, make sure you have the minimum system requirements to run tDMBVC.

You must be getting sustained download rates of 1.4k (1400 bytes)/sec for the songs to play properly. Look in the status bar of your browser as a song is downloading to find out your download rate. If you are not getting a high enough download rate, you can try closing your Internet connection (hang-up your modem) and dialing in again. If this does not help, the only thing you can do is try logging on again at a later time when network activity is not as heavy. Network activity is usually highest between 5pm and 11pm and on the week-ends, when everyone is at home surfing the net.

This problem can also be caused by skipping through many songs to get to a song later in the show. When you skip through songs, they actually begin to download for several seconds. So, if you skip through 5 songs, your browser is trying to download 5 songs at once! To remedy this problem, skip through the songs, then press the square Stop button on tDMBVC. Then press the Stop button on your browser until it is grayed out. Once your browser has stopped trying to download all the songs you skipped through, press play on tDMBVC again to hear the desired song.

It is also good practice to press the Stop button on tDMBVC before skipping to the next song or through many songs.
Note: This problem will be remedied in the next version of tDMBVC.

Why do the songs stop half-way through?

The fact is, I just don't know. Sorry. I have tested tDMBVC on many machines, and sometimes this happens, sometimes it does not. I have tried many things to make it stop, but since it happens so irregularly, I am having trouble pinpointing where the problem lies. The only advice I can offer is trying a different browser or a different computer altogether.

Why does nothing appear when I try to view tDMBVC?

Most likely, you do not have the proper version of the Shockwave plug-in, or you do not have the plug-in installed correctly. You must have the latest version of the Shockwave plug-in for tDMBVC to function properly. Plug-in information can be found here.

Do you have a tape of this show to trade?

Well, yes I do, but I am not trading anymore. Besides that, this show is on DAT, and I do not have a DAT player to transfer it to tape. Again, sorry.

Is there a way I can download tDMBVC and play it from my hard drive?

I would love to be able to offer this to people for many reasons, however, I do not have the server space to offer this as a single download. tDMBVC takes up about 20mb of space, and I only have 25mb of space on Geocities. If someone is willing to give me server space for free, I will gladly offer tDMBVC as a single compressed file, so everyone can download it and listen to it at their leisure without the problems associated with having it on the Internet.
Note: If you are a bit savvy, you can actually download tDMBVC and run it from you hard drive, but I'll let y'all figure this out yourselves.

Why haven't you answered my question?

If none of the questions above resembles yours, and you have tried everything in your power to make tDMBVC work properly, you can email me.
