Knocker Lake View Cemetery
Cleveland, Ohio

Founded in 1869, this large cemetery houses the graves of some of Cleveland's more famous previous inhabitants. This is evident when, after twisting along the cemetery's main road, the visitor finds himself in the shadow of the massive tower of the Garfield Monument, a structure erected to venerate and house the United States' twentieth president. Among the other famous names seen engraved in Lake View is that of John D. Rockefeller.

However, this cemetery has more to offer than just famous names. Within the gates of Lake View are numerous beautiful monuments including the Wade Chapel which boasts an interior designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The many monuments of Lake View, including those shown here, showcase some striking sculpture that is more original than that which is often found. Turtle
