CRUSH
"This is a song for the ladies."

Sarah

Awesome. one of their best. i love the ending, it is too cool. of course all of dave's songs are his best!!! Does he have any worst???? DMB RULES

Doug Tewksbury

I think that Crush is the best song on the new album. I was cool to see a song that began w/ a bass line from the band. I had heard this song on the Live From The 10 Spot MTV show and fell in love w/ it. It began very jazzy and progressed into a great song. The jam at the end on both the live and album versions of the song was great, and the album version was another reason why Tim should be in the band. I hope the song does not become a played out radio song, cause it's definetly a great song, they should just keep it the live jam song I'm expecting it to become.

Ian Hsieh

This is a KiCK aSS, WiCKeD, iN YouR FaCe song by the band. I hope the next album has songs that are just as KiCK aSS as this one!!

John

This song kicks ass. It will going to be #1 and stay there for awhile.

Jessica

This is one of my favorites. I usually can't just listen to it once. Am I right side up or upside down?

Jeff

Crush is probably my favorite song on the CD (I did just go through a bad breakup) especially after the violin solo. The chorus, slightly modified, with just incredible words and emotion, and unbelievable melodies with his voice. I thought his vocal melodies in #41 were going to be hard to beat, but, like I told a friend, he keeps impressing me. He's a great musician but its his voice, vocal melodies, and phrasing that is blessed. I don't think it can be learned.

John Deputy

Crush is a great, luscious song. I liked it the first time I heard it. It starts out with a smooth bass jam and then curls into a voluptuous bunk of wonder. It's cumbersome and it's one of my favorite Dave songs. Also, it has the most lush violin solo. It's straight nuggets.

Mark Maloney

Crush is a killer tune. Great choice.

maria

It is my favorite song on the new cd. it just kind of strikes a note in my heart.

Greendog

I think Crush is one of the best songs on BTCS. It so cool. I think the best version of it was on Mtv's Live at the 10 spot.

Nikki

Crush is an absolute great song. It is for the ladies, because this song contains everything we want men to say to us. And what a great chorus? Can anyone listen to this and not have that refrain stuck in their heads for at least three hours? Although that's a good thing, it could be worse, you could have MMMBop stuck in your head. That would be bad. I want to say that this is my favorite song on BTCS, but I can't. There are so many great songs on this album, I cannot and will not pick a "favorite", even though this song really floats my boat, if ya know what I mean.

michelle carroll

good beat, love his voice, he's sooo sexy

Jennifer

I love it! Very sexy and sophisticated...perfect song and lyrics...mellow but passionate...the next "Crash Into Me." (You just know it's going to be a hit on the radio.)

Kevin Clark

I think Crush is a magnificient song and it should be there next songle of BTCS. I also like the jazz/solo it's got in the end of the song, I listen to that song every day.

Christopher Dunn

I think this is the best song on the new release.

Seth

Good tune, reminds of some good jazz we play in the Jazz Ensemble at the school I attend. I like the lyric work and all the good stuff, how he works it with the song. The changes are good to. The part where Dave sings "It's crazy, i'm thinking, Just knowing that the world is round..." is great, i love listening to it. Reminds me of Best of What's Around and Dancing Nancies for some reason, beats me as to why, just does, kinda that mellow out then that super happy sounding rising whatever chorus. Timmy's guitar sounds great too, fits the song well. I love Boyd's solo, he just kicks ass. I like how they added the piano too, it fits well.

Mike Rehmer

I think it is a great song. It's catchy sound keeps me singing it all day!

Nicollette

I love the little intro groove, it's just the coolest. "Crazy..." doesn't Dave sound great? Man! He really knows what to say to a female. This song makes me melt. Carter's bacing vocals are perfect (Carter's so cute!). Roi is very understated on this piece, but it works well. Damn, go Boyd with that violin solo! Man, he kicks ass. Stefan's bass line is so solid. David's voice is so cool we he sings, "Lovely lady, I will treat you sweetly, adore you..." and "When my faith I feel.." That "sweetly" is too cool. This refrain just makes you want to dance. This song just knocks me on my ass, but so does the entire record. Tim is cool in this little end jam. This song is a keeper. It is worthy of putting it one repeat mode. Roi really shines at the end here. This is just a great song, no doubt about it.

Adriann

The biggest smile came over my face when I saw the song title CRUSH. While I was waiting for this page to come up I was saying to myself "Crush should be the song of the week" Well.......little did I know, eh? This was the last song I heard in the car before I went in to work. My Monday Will be a great one. THANKS!!!

Austin Moody

Very cool song. I like the piano & electric guitar. Not my favorite on the album but really good.

Donald Force

Best song on the new album! A wonderful combination of their older jams on their previous albums and the new musical combinations of this new album. This song has a bit of everything in it and is challenging "#41" for best DMB song ever.

Jair

WOW! What a song!

Nick

Great song! DMB manages to be romantic, intence and still really jam! I love it and it's tried with The Last Stop for best song on

Dana

I absolutely love this song!!!!! It is the Crash Into Me of BTCS. It's a song for lovers, and lovers of DMB, especially Dave. His voice singing those lyrics... can you say sexxxy???

La'Sundra McDaniel

I Love it.....it makes my entire body feel good!

Greg Parkin

One of the most rich DMB songs ever. When I saw this song performed on MTV 10 spot I thought the bass line was a new live intro for Too Much. (like the So Much To Say segway). But when Carter came in with those muted splash hits and Roi blew those sax kisses, I knew this was one that I was gonna love. The lyrics are phenomanal. "let me drink you please.." Utterly sexual but done with so much more tact than most seductive songs of today. My girlfriend loves that he calls the lovely lady friend. "so deep inside my friend" His jump to falsetto on the line "i will treat you sweetly" etc. is beautiful. Violin solo over the driving guitar is a nice effect. For those of you with a videotape of the 10 spot show watch Boyd come out of the solo on short repetitive notes, very effective.(also can be heard on the cd) I sat fourth row center on May 20,1998 at Irvine Meadows in CA and this song was one of the best. Tripping Billies was another stand out with Bela Fleck \ on the banjo. Crush, Warehouse, and Best Of What's Around are solid songs with all kinds of levels of emotion. I share the sentiment that I hope Crush does not become a played out radio song like Crash Into Me did but we can't stop the top forty listeners. The fans who love the DMB for their talent and charisma know that they are really the best of what's around.

JOAQUIN BARRIOS

probably the best vocal climax Dave has ever put together.

Dawn

Crush is one of the most romantic songs I've ever heard because Dave sings about simple things that make people happy....a drive in the car together, watching someone while they sleep. Being so wrapped up in someone it's like you can feel them even when they're not there. Dave always says what I feel, I envy him. He's not afraid to show his emotions. I get so caught up in what he's saying.......

michelle

I think Crush is one of their best songs yet...what I wouldn't do to be the woman that Dave would sing this to!!

Steve Pease

Crush is the best song on BTCS. Just the strings and everything are awesome.

Allyson

A great love song! One of the best the DMB has preformed, that is, besides "Crash Into Me"

carol

sigh. so beautiful.love the bass beginning which takes off into that wonderfully trippy swell of music. the song makes me feel like i'm flyin'. and i love to listen to it when i AM flyin' -). and boyd once again outdoes himself. good one dave.

Bryan Mullins

On UTTAD it was "Lover Lay Down", on Crash it was "Crash Into Me", and "Crush" is the definite slow jam masterpiece of this new album. Love the bass line in the beginning, a lot of progressive jazz into some awesome lyrics. "Am I right side up or upside down" Come on, what a amzing line. Too bad this album itself is still not on par with UTTAD or Crash.

Erin

Well, crush was not exactly one of my favorites but then Dave played it at Giants Stadium on June 7 and it was amazing!!! Now I listen to it on my tape of Giants Stadium and I love that version of it - it's better than on BTCS.

Heather

This is one of my favorite songs on BTCS. I like the way that it starts off soft and then speeds up into an exciting song. I especially love the lyrics in the song because I think they're very romantic.

Sally

undoudtedly one of Dave's best songs ever, if not the best. beautiful. perfect. flowing.

Eric

Great song...just like the rest of them. Glad it's a long song because radio won't overplay it if they do go single with it.

Brian Hall

Great Song! Kinda jazzy. Very mellow. Definitely for the ladies!

Bethany

I love, "crush" it is one of my favorites on the new Cd. I first heard it on live @ the 10 spot on MTV and it was so great. "Crush" was the song I heard before the Cd came out that got me really excited to go and get.

Molly

CRUSH IS AMAZING! Although not my original favorite (it ran a distant second to Halloween), it has become one of my favorite DMB songs ever. Every time I listen I become a little more hooked. I'm happy to finally have a song to replace "I'll Back You Up" as my wedding song. Now, if only I could find the right guy...

Erika

Crush is an amazing song.......especially when you're high!!!!!! Dave kicks ass and so does this song. All of those people who are being so negative and shit about the new album need to shut the fuck up. BTCS is the best album since under the table- I love dave.......CRUSH is great, but the best way to hear it is high, AND live. Who was at alpine and the world 5/29/98 and 5/30? Yeah- you know what that's about. DAVE forever.....4:20 THE LAST STOP is a LITTLE (onl y a little), more amazing than CRUSH. Those 2, and don't drink the water are the three best songs....(.and pantala/rapunzel)

Bekah

This song is awesome. Whenever I hear it, I think of this girl that I really like.. its like Dave is singing it from my point of view. It's so romantic and I want to experience a beautiful evening detailed in the song, with this girl. *sigh*

april starinsky

the intro to the song is so sexy. the whole song is. if only i could get dave to sing it to me in person
