"Maybe took a left turn instead of taking that right, I'd be somebody else tonite."
Proudest Monkey's Review
This is my favorite Dave Matthews Band song...plain and simple. From the first time I heard this song, I loved it. I have heard a lot of live performances of this tune but the UTTAD version is by far my favorite. Every time I hear, "Sing and dance, I'll play for you tonite..." chills run down my spine. Dave's voice along with the relaxed background vocals produces a wonderful effect. As the song progresses it gets better and better and keeps building and building. Boyd has a very suspensful part right at the "Could I have been a Dancing Nancie, Could I have been anyone other than me...." and then BAAAM. The best part: "Sing and Dance, LA LA HEY LA LA HEY LA LA..."...that part gives me even more chills than the first chorus. Did you ever notice Roi's little descending scale right at the beginning of that part? Listen for it because in my opinion that is one of the best parts of the song, even though it is short. One word to describe this song: Phenomenal "Could I have been obsessed with DMB?"

Could I have been in the Dave Matthews Band?

I think that this song really seperates DMB from other bands it not only is a great sounding song but it makes a lot of sense. There is thought to want the song really means and I dont think people pick up, which is sad.

Extremely creative, a statement that powerfully expresses the optimism of tody's successful/thankful individials.

Dancing Nancies is the best song when it is sung live. a very good friend of mine passed away last october. she was only 15 years old. this played this song at her wake. this is why this song means a lot to me. "Whats the use in worrying" you only live once - make the best of it.
Christian Hoffmeyer
One of my all-time favorite songs.
Wow...this song gets alittle bit better everytime i hear it. It is just one of those songs that really makes you think, you could have been anyone
It's an interesting song because it's true- in some other situation, you could be a totally different person.

One of their greatest songs. So original (as always) and a
great acoustic song.

This song makes you wonder what if things were different. Who would I be and what would I be doing. I used to always wonder this when I was younger. It's cool to know someone else thinks the same way.
