This is just a beautiful song, that's all there is to it. The lyrics are really dramatic...some of Dave's best. I like the way he kind of speaks the lyrics. Roi goes crazy on Soprano sax on the live versions and so does Boyd. Seek Up seems to show off each band member's talent. Roi at the beginning, Boyd at the end, a great bass line by Stefan. We don't have to mention Carter because it is understood that he is unbelievable on EVERY song. The melody of this song gives me chills every time, especially the second time they play "You Seek Up and emotion" with Boyd playing first and then Roi answering him.

Out of the songs on R2T, this one's my favorite. It's cryptic and vague, and open to interperetation. But maybe I'm reading too much into it...it's a kickass song!

To truly express how I feel about Seek Up would take a forty page essay. All I can say is that this is the most powerful song ever made. Experiencing this song as an opener on 10/2/96 was absolutely incredible. This song contains Dave's best lyrics nothing beats them. I also really love Boyd's part his melancholy violin is undoubtedly one of his best performances. I recently wrote an English paper on what is was like experiencing Seek Up on 10/2/96 I believe it is the best piece of writing I have ever made if you'd like to read it, contact me at the above e-mail address.

I like Seek up ten times better live than on rtt. when i first heard it, i liked it a lot, but then hearing it live i realized that the version on rtt did not give it true credit although it is a good song, it is definitely not my favorite

cool stuff, the way it's in 6/8 but doesn't sound like it. they recorded this when dave's voice sounded really cool. i could do without some of that kenny g tenor sax, tho.
