DISTRIBUTION
Money for nothing and chicks for free.
If anyone reading this is interested in distributing our records please
get in contact, but don't waste my time with any "I'll take 5 copys on
consignment" bullshit, what I will do is I will sell you 10 or more copies
of any one record for $2 each, then you can sell them for $3 each and
make $10 off every 10 you sell.
CONSIGNMENT
I won't give you something for nothing, I don't want to do consignment
for several reasons. Nine times out of ten I will never see my money and
end up having to drive out to New Jersey to kick your ass. Chances are
the person is not sure enough that they can sell the records to invest
any of his/her own money in it and that says something about how much
of my time you are going to waste in trying to get either paid or my records
back from you, or you have no intention of paying me in the first place
and want to keep all the money for yourself.
Now realize, I can sell these myself for $3 a copy and make $2 profit
off each one, I'm cutting you a deal so you can make money off my hard
work and spread the wealth (and the records) to people all over the country/world,
there are circumstances where I would consider doing consignment (i.e.
if you're a big distro like vacuum or bovine and I know shitloads of people
are going to be exposed to the title if nothing else) but unless you got
a really convincing sob story your better off just shelling out $20 for
the shits.
TRADES
Your
records suck, face it! Don't bother sending me a letter asking me if I
want to trade 7"s with your band that nobody's ever heard of, if you really
want to trade and do a distro/label send a copy of the record you want
to trade and suggest it and assume I think it sucks and don't want to
trade with you. That way if I do it will be a flattering surprise and
if I don't, which I probably won't, you will only have given out one record
to me and that's not that big of a loss. I want to trade with bigger labels
who haven't heard of me so I get distributed by them and they can sell
the trades they give me. Understand the plan? I mean, I commend all indie
labels, especially one person run bedroom labels that are trying to get
theirs. But I'm trying to get mine too so ask somebody else to trade.
