From: jwolfson@exeter.edu (Joe Wolfson) Subject: galapogos here's my interp of galapogos: in the beginning billy is talking about how we try to be kids again--inicent and harmless. then he is talking about how he needs to forget all that he knows because there is a point where you know too much. then he says how he won't avoid the pain and the change if [chris?? someone] leaves him like others have. then i think he talks about young romances (carving out a heart in a tree) and he wants to be held and told that everything is alright (and that's he's "still the man he's supposed to be"). again he says that he won't avoid the pain and change if [chris?? someone] leaves him. he then says that it's too late to turn back and fix all the mistakes and that he is "changing, changing" (which is one of the main thoughts in this cd: change, at least i think it is). i'm not sure about the part that goes: "and if we died right now, this fool you love somehow is here with you." any suggestions? anyway, then he goes back to how he won't avoid the pain, etc. but at the end he doesn't say "will you leave me too?". he says "would you leave me too?". it's a very different question. think about it. thanx for reading! julia "so let the clouds roll by your face we'll let the world spin on to another place we'll climb the tallest tree above it all to look down on you and me and them" --billy corgan, smashing pumpkins--
