LISTENING TO LARRY
The Beat Generation
by Larry Joe Miller
You know man - sometimes you have one of those months.
Where nothing is right and you get in a rut.
You get all jazzed out and can't get through it. It's been
one of those ....am I really ok? .... Biff, Bam, Bop. I belong
to
the beat generation and man I've been beat. My poetry is
bad but I'm gonna repeat - all of that jive I said about
trash out in the street. About s-m-o-o-o-o-k-i-n, and eating and
other things that makes life neat. Biff, Bam, Bop. Oh wow man
is it ok to throw all those cigarettes on the street today. Tin
cans
here and tin cans there, look all around you'll see them everywhere.
I belong to the beat generation man. Cars sqealling here, buses
turning there, blowing their hot breath into the air. The air
belongs
to the new generation man - wow - it has really been beat. Biff,
Bam
Bop. They say the world is round, but it is really square, it
has lost
its ozone - it went to another zone - soon we won't have a pad
- how
sad - man it's the beat generation. They came from places far
and wide - seeing how many they can get inside a small little space -
everyone is is everyone's face. Biff, Bam Bop. It's the new
genderation. I belong to the beat generation... Which is right?
Which
is wrong? Where are you coming from man? Where have
you been? I belong to the inhuman race - the beat generation.
Take
care of it out there man. We got kids! Don't tread on me. Don't
tread on them. Biff, Bam, Bop!
This is the End - but it could be the Beginning. Biff, Bam, Bop.
