RS STP SW: Hello to all !
AOLiveMC7: Are you ready to start answering some questions?
RS STP SW: yes
Question: Hey scott...first i have to say I LOVE your new style!! SEXY!!, i
must
Question: say..Do you like the music you are making now better than before?
RS STP SW: I have to say that this is the most satisfying album that I've
ever made.
RS STP SW: Because it's my vision and so I can follow it through exactly how
I see it ..
RS STP SW: When you are writing with a band , you end up collaborating with
other members and the
Question: What are your current tour plans?
RS STP SW: Right now, a headlining tour this spring in May that will be in
theaters
RS STP SW: and big clubs just to get the ball rolling.
RS STP SW: After that, there is some talk of me doing Lollapalooza if in
fact it takes place.
Question: were you aiming to veer away from the STP sound on this project or
was
Question: STP's stuff an influence?
RS STP SW: I wanted to do something different. This type of an album --
being eclectic
RS STP SW: -- is one I've wanted to do but couldn't because of STP's
boundaries and restraints.
RS STP SW: I was restrained by other musicians and their own personal
influences so yes,
RS STP SW: I wanted to make an album I could produce myself. My production
hereos are
RS STP SW: Brian Eno, George Martin and Daniel Lanois and they always made
albums that were sonically
RS STP SW: very bold and modern sounding -- not just your basis rock & roll
production.]
AOLiveMC7: Speaking of Lollapalooza, many people want to know who are your
favorite female artists.
RS STP SW: I would have to say, at the moment, my favorite is probably PJ
Harvey.
RS STP SW: But that's currently speaking. As far as overall, I would say my
favorite is probably
RS STP SW: everything from Billie Holiday to Janis Joplin.
Question: Who would you like to work with in the future? -AM69Dana
RS STP SW: As a musican, the people that I have playing with me right now
are pretty much players
RS STP SW: that if I could put any band together, this would be pretty much
it. I'm playing with my
RS STP SW: Also, Martin LeNoble from Porno For Pyros
Question: hello what up do you like skateboard or anything like that
OnlineHost: Ladies and Gentlemen, our guest, Scott Weiland will
OnlineHost: be back shortly. Thank you for your patience.

RS STP SW: I just answered that one!
Question: Scott...do you think if someone wants to reach your level of
success
Question: they should be sitting at there computer trying to talk to you or
out writing
Question: songs and performing?
RS STP SW: I think the best thing to do is to write songs -- whether you're
on your
RS STP SW: own or with somebody else. I htink the best investment someone
can make is
RS STP SW: is purchasing a little home studio -- a four-track studio and
write and record as many
RS STP SW: songs as possible and develop your experence with it.
an acoustic guitar at a coffee shop or
RS STP SW: or with a full band, playing local clubs.
RS STP SW: Playing live is a necessity because when people hear your music,
they
RS STP SW: want to know if you can really back it up live ...
Question: I realize that the 'alternative rock' is not geared towards
politics?
Question: But are there any political "pundits" in your new album? I'm in
DC...have
Question: heard a great deal...
RS STP SW: On this album, there aren't nearly the socio-political references
that I've made
RS STP SW: on past STP records. For instance, on "Meatplow," it's about how
political systems
RS STP SW: use society for what it has to give to the system and then chews
it up and spits it out
Question: Scott you rule! I have a question, what is the reason for using
the
Question: words SIN, and LIES, in so many songs on the first two albums?
Thanks!
RS STP SW: Perhaps I have a gulity conscious. I'm subconsciously dealing
with my guilty conscious.
Question: What got you so into the David Bowie and artsy like stuff now?
RS STP SW: I've always been a huge Bowie fan and I've always been an art fag
RS STP SW: I paint and sculpt as well as write song but it's juts something
I do for fun.
Question: Scott,
Do any of the songs on this record
refer to your drug use? If
Question: so, was
it difficult to express your feelings on such a personal subject-which
Question: has been made public by the press and you bandmates?
RS STP SW: Yeah, there are a lot of references to the pain that I have gone
through due to
RS STP SW: my drug experiences and that's basically why I named the album
"12 Bar Blues" because
RS STP SW: blues are based on emotional pain and hardships. The lyrics deal
largely
RS STP SW: with personal situations in my life that I needed to write about
to therapeutic
RS STP SW: clean my soul.
Question: How long did it take to make this new cd
RS STP SW: It took about 9 months due to the fact that I was recording it on
and off because there
RS STP SW: 2 STP tours during the middle of my recording it.
Question: What is the one thing you would like the world to know about you?
RS STP SW: Also, because I was writing the songs as I was recording them so
I didnt have a
RS STP SW: stockpile of material that I was sitting on
RS STP SW: That I'm a caring person, a sensitive person and
RS STP SW: hopefully will leave some sort of posittive impact in the realm
of pop music and
RS STP SW: rock & roll.
AOLiveMC7: Wow!! Where has all of the time gone? We have time for one more
question.
Question: how has your life changed since over comming your addications
RS STP SW: It's become much more easy to manage and has made it possible for
me to enjoy the journey
RS STP SW: of life on a day to day basis.
AOLiveMC7: Scott, do you have any final comments?
