The Bosstones started in 1985 when Nate was only 13. In 1986 they were featured on Mash It Up comp, Razorbeat Records. The song featured was "the Cave" (also on Devils Night Out). Time was taken out so that Nate and Joe could finish high school. They re-formed and started wearing plaid suits. Originally, they were just "The Bosstones", but with a bartenders help they became the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Over time band members came and band members were lost. Many albums were released. They started touring almost every month of the year. In 1993, they signed with mercury records. More albums were released.

In 1995, they joined the Lollapalooza tour. They also appeared on various MTV shows. In 1997, they released Lets Face It. It continues to do well. They will always do their best to produce great music and proclaim that they will never sell out.
