The Stubborn All-stars are an eleven piece roots/trad ska band from Brooklyn, New York. They have pretty much the same ideas in their music as The Insteps and The Skinnerbox, no wonder they are all on the same lable. The Stubborn All-stars' music doesn't comply to the way most ska is sounding these days. While today's ska bands are singing about beer and selling out The Stubborn All-stars stick to playing traditional ska. Their sound is based on such ska vetrans as Prince Buster and The Skatalites. Their orchestrea consists of three saxes, two trumpets, two trombones, and a whole lotta vocals. The Stubborn All-stars were not affraid to take ska back to its roots while the rest of the country were circle skanking themselves silly at Less Than Jake shows. In a recent interview with MTV, The Stubborn All-stars said that they were sick MTV and DJ's across the country slapping the label of ska as anything with horns.
