In case you hadn't already noticed, I am really into the band Phish. For more info on this amazing quartet, visit the Official Phish Website. I have seen them live 72 times. Click here to see my show stats. I am also very much into the Grateful Dead (Dead: 42 times;JGB (with Jerry): 10 times) and other improvisational rock bands. I collect tapes/cds of live music and trade with people from all over the world. I have nearly 1000 Phish tapes/cds, over 300 Dead tapes/cds and many shows from a variety of other bands. I used to frequent Lifeboy's Phish Chat , a place for phans to gather and communicate on the web. It's how I got my name (my handle in the room). I met a lot of really nice people there and have actually met quite a few of them in person; many of which I am sure will become lifetime phriends. I even got my NYE 1997/1998 ticket from a fellow fan in the chat room. Thanks Pete!!! I will soon have other pages here related to various aspects of my life. I am hoping to eventually have pictures, reviews, and other such items. For starters, here is a picture of the guys taken at the Corestates Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA:

Last year thousands of supporters were able to stop federal legislation that would have essentially given federal prosecutors new powers to shut down raves, dance parties, hemp festivals, marijuana rallies, circuit parties and other events and punish business owners and activists that hosted or promoted them. Sadly, the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act (formerly known as the RAVE Act) was attached to the AMBER Alert bill conference report at the last minute by Senator Biden (D-DE). Both houses of Congress passed the AMBER legislation with the RAVE Act amendments and it was signed into law by President Bush.
The RAVE Act amends the federal "crack house law" to make it easier for federal prosecutors to fine and imprison business owners that fail to stop drug offenses from occurring. Businessmen and women could be prosecuted even if they were not involved in drugs - and even if they took steps to stop drug use on their property. Although proponents of the bill are seeking to target raves (and DJs, nightclub owners, and rave promoters have the most to fear), the law could apply to any business owner, including bar owners, motel owners, concert promoters, and cruise ship owners, as well as organizers of hemp festivals, circuit parties and other events. Because of its broad language, the law could potentially subject people to twenty years in federal prison if one or more of their guests smoked marijuana at their party or barbecue.
Recognizing that the RAVE Act is a threat to free speech, public health, and innocent business owners, the Drug Policy Alliance launched a major campaign last year to stop it from becoming law.
Together, we (YOU, me, and others that enjoy musical events and gatherings) can fight this law and the sneaky politicians that got it into legislation! Find out more and do what you can to help. Find out what you can do to FIGHT THE RAVE ACT by clicking here. Learn more, contribute some time or money, write your congressman, attend a protest near you.
Don't let the government make it hard to promote, sponsor, or put together something as enjoyable as a good concert, musical showcase, or festival. Don't let the government take away our rights. CLICK HERE TO FIGHT THE RAVE ACT!
Bonnaroo was the wildest craziest, most incredible festival I have ever been to... It's layout and design was based upon the Big Cypress NYE Phish show (see below), but rather than one single band playing on one stage, there were 4 stages featuring about 60 bands all weekend long, with bands from many different genres playing from around Noon each of the three days til as late as 6 or 7am on Sat and Sun mornings... nearly 100,000 people showed up to the 500 acre farm 60 miles SW of Memphis and it was AMAZING!!! The best part about it (other than the great music) was the atmosphere and the kindness of the crowds. There were no riots and there was no looting going on... only partyin' people havin fun and helpin each other out... in fact, there were only a handful of arrests made and all of those occurred outside of the actual festival grounds (hired security roamed the area with shirts that read "SAFETY" instead of "SECURITY" on horseback) The only bad part about the entire weekend was the unbearable heat, but what could anyone do about that? Nothing at all... Just grin and bear it. And that we did... we ALL did... Everyone I've talked to had a blast! :o)
Big Cypress was AWESOME!!! click on the link above or here to read about my Phlorida NYE experience and to see some pics from the big show.
