Daily Variety (October 2, 2000) p.5 CHASE THROUGH TIME Hunter to helm Cohen's `Old' for Blue Tulip by Charles Lyons Vid helmet Paul Hunter will make his directorial debut with "Old City," a time-travel thriller penned by Jon Cohen that Jan de Bent and Lucas Foster's Fox-based Blue Tulip Prods. will produce. "This project is something really close to my heart that we have been trying to get going at Fox for a long time," de Bent told Daily Variety. "Paul Hunter has a great vision for the project. He not only has technical skills but also the ability to tell stories. His videos are exemplary because there is a story there." Senior veep of Twentieth Century Fox Michael Andreen will oversee "Old City," while Blue Tulip's head of development and production, Jessika Borsiczky, is shepherding the project for the shingle. "Old City" centers on a cop who is hunting a serial killer across time and space -- in both contemporary times and during the 18th century. Hunter, known in the music vid world for vids of Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Eminem, Christina Aguilara and many others, worked with de Bent on the vid for his megahit, "Twister." Hunter's "American Women" vid for Kravitz was nominated for multiple MTV music awards, as was the Jennifer Lopez vid. De Bent is considering several possibilities for his next project, including "The 28th Ammendment" at Warner Bros. The helmers' "The Haunting" was released last year. Hunter is repped by Vanessa Alexander at Handprint Entertainment and the William Morris Agency. Cohen, repped by UTA, is working on "Adaptive Ultimate" at TCF and last year penned "Wonder Woman" for Joel Silver's company. Blue Tulip is repped by The Gersh Agency.
