This is short "festival" set. For an outdoor performance, this recording quality is very good as is the guys' quality considering they were on stage at 11:30am. Being that it is the Taste Of Chicago there is a lot of discussion and singing about food as one would expect. Ed does a funny bit about how Reynolds Aluminum Wrap truck drivers get hassled in truck stops when they roll in driving their peach-colored semis. Also, you'll want to listen for Kevin's "Big Idea For Food".
There are some serious BNL fans right around this booter but fortunately for us they can sing in tune and actually lend the vibe we all love so much at BNL shows to this recording. The only thing disappointing about this boot is a recording break in the opening "Sausage & Pizza" improv song and the first couple bars of Brian Wilson - almost as though the tape machine got shut off inadvertently. But the world is an imperfect place and other than that it is a fun little set.
Highlight: Convoy cover.
