Part One

Katherine sat down at her chair. Her father, the King of England, had a fiest in the castle to celebrate that Katherine was going to marry Sir Victor next week. Sir Victor was the only son to one of the richest men in Europe, Sir Valiant. Katherine didn’t love him at all. She looked sadly down at the floor. Her mother, the Queen, came to her.

-Don’t just sit there and look sad, Katherine! she said. Sir Victor will arrive any minute now.

Katherine looked up at her mother.

-And I don’t want to hear again that thee won’t marry him! the Queen said. You know how your father will take it! Now...

She got interrupted by all the guests when they welcomed Sir Victor.

-Go to him, Katherine! the Queen said.

-Alright madame..., Katherine said.

She stood up, smiled a weak smile to her mother and then went to Sir Victor. He saw her, smiled happily at her and went to her. He kissed her hand and gave her a charming smile.

-It feels wonderful to be here with thee..., he said.

Katherine gave him a faked smile.

Linda, Katherine’s cousin and nearest friend, watched them. She knew exactly how Katherine felt, cuz she was going to marry a man she didn’t love either. It got darker and darker outside. Soon, the sun had left the space to make room for the moon. Linda looked out through the big windows. She loved the night hours. She just loved it. Suddenly, she took her eyes off the moon and watched all the people that were in the giant room. Her eyes stopped at a young man. She couldn’t take her eyes off of him, not even when her fiancee came to her to ask if she wanted to dance. Anyway, when her fiancee left her to dance with an other woman, the young man Linda had watched came to her. He was tall and handsome, he had a beautiful, charming smile and mysterious green eyes. Linda had always seen him during the night time, but she had never seen him out in the sunshine. He stood in front of her now. He kissed her hand.

-Do my lady know that she is the most beautifulest living thing that have ever lived in this world? he asked with a beautiful smile.

Linda blushed.

-Why do thee blush? he said and smiled a even bigger smile. What’s your name?

-My name is Linda..., she said shyly. And what is yours?

-Tito Joe.

-Tito Joe? That’s a beautiful name.

-Not as beautiful as yours...

They looked at each other for a while. Linda couldn’t stop look into his eyes. They were so mysterious... so beautiful...

-Would you like to dance, miss Linda? Tito Joe asked.

-I’d love to! Linda said and smiled.

Katherine couldn’t stop think about Taryll Adren, a man that she had met on the full moon night when Sir Victor had asked her to be his wife. Sure, Katherine said no at first, but the King got so mad so she had to say yes. But it didn’t mean that she had quit loving Taryll, one of Sir Victor’s friends. She closed her eyes. If he only was here... The music stopped and the dance was over. Katherine opened her eyes. She saw her Taryll standing next to the door to the balcony. He smiled at her. Oh, his smile...

-Ah, my friend Taryll is here! Sir Victor said.

He and Katherine went to Taryll. The three of them had a litle conversation about everything, but they got interrupted by the King, who wanted Sir Victor to meet the Royal family. Taryll and Katherine was left alone. They went out on the balcony and looked up at the dark sky. Thousand of stars shined down at them.

-My lady does not love Sir Victor, I’ve heard..., Taryll said.

-Oh... well... I have to say that I don’t love him.

-Then why shall thee marry him?

Katherine looked at him and then down at her hands.

-Because my father wants me to marry Sir Victor..., she said quietly.

Then they both looked up to the sky again. They had known each other for a while now. She loved him with all her heart and she knew that he did knew about it, somehow.

-My lady...

-Say Katherine.

-Katherine, I...

He looked at her.

-I love thee...

Katherine looked at him. She didn’t knew if she would be happy or sad.

-The first time I saw thee, I wanted thee..., he said.

Katherine smiled softly at him. She looked into the house. Almost everybody danced. No one looked out on the balcony. She looked back at him.

-I love thee too, Taryll..., she said.

-Would thee like to be mine...

He looked at her in a strange way. His eyes told her that he was unsure of what to do.

-...forever?

Katherine smiled at him.

-Yes Taryll, I would.

He took her hand. Then he drag her into a darker place of the big balcony, where no one could see them.

-Are you sure? he whispered.

He sounded so strange when he whispered. Katherine nod.

-Yes, I’m sure...

Taryll put his arms around her. Their lips met. Taryll kissed her as softly as he could. Then it changed. Katherine’s mouth hurt. She backed off and looked scared at Taryll. His teeth was bloody. Then she realized that it was her blood. She wiped the blood off from her mouth with her hands.

-I’m sorry...! Taryll said.

-You... You are...

-I’m sorry, Katherine!

Katherine ran as fast as she could in to the house, up on the stairs and through the hall. Then she locked in herself in her room. Luckily, neither Sir Victor, the King, the Queen or somebody else had noticed her. She washed the blood away with cold water. She couldn’t believe it. The man of her dreams was a vampire...

After a while, Linda and Jacqueleen (Linda’s and Katherine’s friend) started to look for Katherine. Tito Joe had went home with his brothers Taryll and Tariano Adaryll. Neither Linda or Jacqueleen knew where their friend could be. They had soon looked everywhere ’til they got to her room. Linda knocked on the door.

-Katherine, it’s Linda and Jacqueleen. Are you in there?

-Yes...

-Can we come in?

-Sure...

Linda and Jacqueleen opened the door and went in to the room.

-Lock the door! Katherine said.

Her friends locked the door and then sat down next to Katherine on her bed.

-What is it? Jacqueleen wondered. 

Katherine started to cry a little bit. She were so scared. She calmed herself down and looked at her friends.
