Wow, what a week it's been. I don't remember having so much fun as I did this week. I mean, it's not everyday that you get paged in Wal Mart saying Elton John is waiting for you outside in the limo. I got paged twice!
A highlight of the week was meeting all my online friends, old and new. You all know who you are! A BIG thank you to Laura and Joey for having me at their home. Can't wait to have you here! Laura, I wlll never forget, "Ello Paul, I'm ome". HAHA!
Now for the Hershey show! It took us about two hours to get there...Mom, are we there yet? As we walked up to the venue, we noticed Scottie, Shira and Denise. I'm so glad they were able to get tickets. There was a camera man from one of the local TV stations and Laura asked him, "What's it take to get front row?" The man said he was looking for big EJ fans. I think he found what he was looking for! He began to interview Laura and she showed off her tattoo and her license plate she was hoping to get signed. He then asked us if we would all sing a song for the camera. We were all shy at first and pushed each other to the front. Laura got us going by starting to sing Crocodile Rock. We did pretty good for amateurs :0) The camera man was so happy and even offered to mail us a copy of the footage. Watch out for special appearances by The Johnettes! Haha.
We then headed inside and to our seats. Eleventh row tonight. They were still very good seats because they were right infront of Elton. Scottie made herself comfortable on the floor next to us. It was amazing...no one bothered her. One security guard even apologized to her when he bumped into her as he was showing some other people their seats.
Elton came out wearing the most beautiful blue suit. Yay, no black suits! We were able to make our way to the stage for the first song, thanks to some really cute security guards. This crowd was a little bit more lively than the past two shows. I saw a couple people get up and dance. Laura, Scottie and I could not sit still during Honky Cat. Love that song! I also enjoyed the John Lennon video during Empty Garden. This was my first time seeing it too.
As he sang Burn Down The Mission, we quietly walked around the floor and then up to the end of the stage. The cute security guard told us we could come up for the autograph session, so he had us wait til the song was over. Again, we all got autographs. This time he signed my Elton Candle 2000. It seemed that they whole arena had the same idea we had about sneaking up and there was a huge crowd for autographs. Back to our seats, but not for too long.
The three of us again walked up to the stage before he started Crocodile Rock. There were tons of people at the stage, unlike in Wilkes Barre. Elton seemed to love the crowd tonight. As he came out for the encore, there were a few fans behind the stage that were waving their programs. Elton stopped and generously signed them. What a guy!
Tonight's show was the best of all three. I was so sad to see it end. Until next time... |
