on a deeper look of the song, i think ive changed my opinion of it.  the man
in the song has been taken by the demon, killed by love.  he has committed
suicide because of a lost love, or an unrequieted one, as he says 'ive seen
what a man can do,' etc, in the chorus.  It is also reinforced in the last
stanza, talkin of how he has been given away( a funeral) and so on.  The
middle stanza still puzzles me a bit though.  i think the entire stanza is a
small speech to the woman who has hurt him, rather than to the audience in
general.  It seems to me that he is still hanging on to the notion of their
love, and the hope he has found is that it will outlast his death.  He then
ask's her to try and find it herself, i guess in the hope that they will
reunite in the afterlife.
Anyway, seems to make sense at this late hour, and im fairly certain you
can see it this way if you look again at the lyrics.  the only part im still a
bit uncertain about is the middle stanza, tell me what you think.
