"THE NAME ARGENTINA comes from the latin argentum which means silver. The origin of the name goes back to the voyages made by the first Spanish conquistadores (conquerors) to the Río de la Plata (Silver River). The shipwrecked survivors of the expedition mounted by Juan Díaz de Solís discovered indians in the region who presented them with silver objects. The news about the legendary Sierra del Plata, a mountain rich in silver, reached Spain around 1524. From this date the Portuguese named the river Solís, the Silver River. Two years later the Spanish used the same name. Since 1860 the official name of the country has been the República Argentina (Republic of Argentina)."

We not only do Rockabilly, also country & rock and roll. In 1997 we play at the 1st Buenos Aires Rockabilly Festival gathering more than 300 fans.

Tell the world something about yourself! : The first thing that turn me on rockabilly was, believe it or not, The Beatles. I remember that I was a big Beatles fan but instead of every Beatles fan that prefers the Sargent Peppers kind of stuff I prefer their first records, specially Beatles For Sale. I was only 13 or 14 and as I investigated I discover Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins and Buddy Holly. Like a stupid I went to a record shop to buy something of Chuck Berry, I still remember the seller's face, he didn't know who was Chuck Berry!!! I couldn't believe it. You don't know what it means to live in a country with no rockin culture. With patience I discover only 1 record shop that specialize in that kind of music. Only one shop in a big city like Buenos Aires!!!! I begun to forgot the Beatles and I begun to listen to blues, country and then I find that the music that I like too much was known as rockabilly. By this time was when the Stray Cats appears. They really blow my mind. There were so difficult to get rockabilly records during this time (1982-1989 more a less). I grow up listening not only Stray Cats, also Restless, Polecats, Buzz and the Flyers, Crazy Cavan, Matchbox. Thanks God things have change a little. I'm playing in a RAB band and there are some other bands. Rockabilly is a little more known in Argentina and Records are a lot more easy to get but we still have to continue fighting agains the ignorance of the majoriy of the people.

Where have you travelled to? : Dallas, Los Angeles and I've been at the Viva Las Vegas RAB Festival.

Where would you like to travel to? : England and the 2nd edition of the VLV.

Write something in your native language and translate to English please. :

Long Live Authentic Rock and Roll

Any furthur comments? : Keep on Rockin'
