SUPER FURRY ANIMALS
                                                       FUZZY LOGIC CREATION
                                                                  Q January 1997

No-one asked for a new Blur, nor did anyone expect Creation's haphazard stake in the all-new Musically Relevant Wales to fill that role, but this Cardiff-based  five-piece  peedle a well-informed take on Britpop with their DIY-looking debut. Their mental rock, while essentially poppy-harmonic, is often breathtaking (If You Don't Want Me To Destroy You could easily be off Bowie's Space Oddity), and singer Gruff Rhys allows a pleasing measure of Welsh accent into his voice. Even a duff association with This Year's Criminal, Howard Marks, cannot dull their shine.
