Before too long, Admiral Twin, the alternative band that opened for Hanson strutted onto stage and wailed out their music to a mildly entertained audience. The Admiral Fans who we had talked to in line had told us their names so we shouted for them, partly so they wouldn't feel unloved. :) AT got done with their set in a half hour and left the stage. For a gruelingly long half hour we watched the little men set up the stage for Hanson. At least the venue played interesting songs while we waited. At one point everyone in the audience was singing "My Girl" and dancing. The stage crew put up a gray curtian thingy. It wouldn't be long now. |
The lights suddenly when low. Music started and the curtian dropped. There they were! HANSON!!! Playing "Give Me Some Lovin'" The audience screamed. And I DO mean screamed! I was thrilled. I grabbed my binoculars to get an extra close look. THe first thing that struck me was, "WOW, I'm seeing Hanson LIVE!!!" The next thing was, "WOW, THEY"RE CUTER IN PERSON!" They played "Thinking of You," "River," and "Where's the Love" and a few other more familiar songs. THen they left. :(
The stage crew ran back on stage and lowered Tay's keyboards, moved Zac's drums, brought out a big comfy chair, and helped lower a backdrop that looked like a house. I couldn't figure it out until The guys ran back on stage and took their places and Ike said, "Welcome to out three car garage." Ike, Tay, and Zac then played some songs by themselves (without the backup guys) They played Stories (which rocked), Thinking of You, Soldiers, and more. Ike looked like he was crying during Thinking of You. He made me cry, he was so into it.
After it ended he hung his head and shook it up and down. It was that moment that made me realize that Ike was really serious about and felt his music. Next Tay and Zac ran off the stage and Ike moved over to Tay's keyboards. He sang "...." Again, I was inthralled at how Ike really got into his songs. Through out the whole concert Ike seemed so sweet and kind. So professional, yet fun-loving. *sigh* You should have been there! |
They left again and set the stage back up normally. This time when Hanson came back out they had water guns and squirted the audeince. Ike couldn't resist squirting Tay, which almost caused on all out wet fight right there. The guys finished the concert soaking wet. Toward the end of the concert, Zac sang Man From Milwaukee using drumsticks that glowed in the dark! Tay got the crowd singing "Summer Time Blues."-----> which was the last song they did :( |
<----Before they left the stage for the final time, Ike, Tay and Zac sang a verse from "Weird" acapella (ok, so I can't spell. You know, without music.)
<----And with two bows and many screams, they were gone....... |
