Chapter Four

When Amber came to, she didn't notice the five fuzzy figures looking over her. She sat up and ran her hand through her frazzled hair.
"Wow, that was an interesting dream. Me, move in next door to the Hanson family. That will be the day Rachel kills me!" she mumbled to herself.
"Who?" someone inquired.
"Oh, a friend of mine who...." she began until she realized someone had actually asked her. From there it didn't take her long to realize that what had happened wasn't really a dream at all.
"Oh, man!" she sighed, lying back down.
"Oh no! She fainted again!" Avery exclaimed.
"Actually, I haven't, but thanks for worrying." she said, lying on the floor, her hand on her forehead.
"Oh." Avery said, rather disappointed as Amber began to sit up.
"Are you okay?" Taylor asked.
"Yeah, thanks." she smiled at him.
"I'll get you some water." Ike said
"Thanks, and is it possible I could get some aspirin, too?"
"Yup."
"Thanks you guys, like, a lot. Goodness, you gave me quite a scare!"
"I'm sorry." Zac apologized.
"It's alright. Not even I could have imagined I would faint." she assured him.
Ike soon returned with her water and aspirin, and Amber began her heart breaking story of her move. However, she soon found herself at the end.
"And I was just getting up to check on Mackenzie, when Zac startled me, and I guess I don't need to tell you anymore, because you know the rest." she finished.
"Wow." Zac said in awe.
"Um... speaking of Mac, where is he?" Ike asked.
"Last time I checked, he was in his sandbox." Zac said. Taylor ran out of the room and after a few seconds, ran back in again.
"Guys, he's gone again!" Tay reported.
"Again..? Oh man, I hope your mom doesn't kill me!" Amber remarked as she ran her fingers through her long hair that fell a few inches below her shoulders, like she always did when she was nervous.
"Okay, um, Jessica and Avery, check inside the house. Tay and I will check outside, and Zac, would you take Amber home?" Isaac said as he took the commanding lead.
"I'll help!" Amber chimed in, but Ike immediately told her that if Zac could make her faint, she just needed to go home and rest.
"Alright then. Good luck, guys." she said, smiling first at Ike and then at Tay.
"Thanks." Taylor said, looking at the floor and slightly blushing.
"Well, shall we go?" Zac asked.
"Um-hum." she said.
Zac opened the front door and hopped over all three steps. Amber stepped out into the heat that wrapped around her like a humid blanket. She sighed and stepped down onto the second step, but lost her balance and fell straight into Zac's arms.
"Oops! Sorry!" she retracted, realizing how tight she was hanging on, "Woah." she said as she stood upright."
"Watch your step." Zac kept a hold on her. "Just in case she falls again." he said to himself, not fully believing it to be true.
"Oh no!" She cried.
"What?" Zac asked, confused. She began to run towards her house. As she did this, Amber tried to take his arm from her waist but failed and dragged him with her.
"The car is gone! They must have left!" she exclaimed.
