The Devil Within

My trusted face looks wholesome to the little kids,

Mr. Rogers would even be proud.

I'm the crossing guard,

I'm the kid who mowed your lawn for free,

I was the altar boy,

I was afraid of the schoolyard bully.

Soon I was pushed to the edge,

Poked and prodded,

Salt in my wounds,

robbed of my innocence.

Now my rage comes out,

Now my scowl is chiseled on my face.

Pull off my mask and see my red face,

Kill me if you can...

Pandora's box can't even hold me now,

every mother and father locks the doors when I come around.

I kicked your poodle!

I pissed in your bushes!

See the devil within!

Look at my evil smile!

Look into my eyes!

See the devil within!
